Bass9Man Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I'm trying to save money. Buying Bass Tackle gets expensive. I'm thinking of getting these hooks.http://www.***.com/Do-it...e-DIMCSJH.html I'm looking to use them for plastics. Do you guys think, these hooks are worth using? Quote
perchpunk22 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 if you put a corkscrew keeper on there it would probably work awesome for plastics. I use a lot of those types of hooks for worms and lizards. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted July 30, 2011 Super User Posted July 30, 2011 Biggest disadvantage is that it isn't designed with the hook gap to T-rig baits. Quote
matstone7 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Biggest disadvantage is that it isn't designed with the hook gap to T-rig baits. I disagree with that statement. While this is a jig hook, it is designed to have a plastic threaded on it and still stick a fish. People use straight shank and standard offset to T/rig all the time and the gap is no different. Super User Hooligan Posted July 30, 2011 Super User Posted July 30, 2011 Right, Matt, but isn't the 32886 a narrow gap hook in the first place? I mean, yes, it will work, but you're going to have to upsize the hook considerably to fish many plastics on a Trig versus being threaded on. Quote

The 4/0 and 5/0 will cover most any bait without any issues. They may even increase your hook-ups because of the angle of hook point. Quote
