TimJ Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 the bottom line on the earlier post about Icast best-of-show winners is the VMC spinshot. on an Ontario-based forum, a post was put up about the spinshot. basically, it is a drop shot hook built on a swivel. it keeps the hook upright with no worry about tying special knots. you can tie your usual knot to both ends of the swivel. this also cuts way back on line twist. there is a youtube video. not sure if I can post the link. someone let me know if its ok, please. thanks. baluga Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Looks good, it will sure minimizes the line twist, although there's a slack or play between the twisted wire ends that holds the hook. I think this slack would absorb the twitching action thus requiring one to make a more pronounce rod twitch to give the same lure movement as compared to the usually drop shot hook setup. I would stick to standard drop shot hooks. JMHO Quote
