When I walked down the isle in BPS yesterday and saw senkos for 8.29 a bag and senko wanna be's Yum Dingers at 5.79 a

bag, I would say we definitely have bass bait inflation going on. I laughed as I picked up another bag of Pit Boss baits for 2.99. I found with a little imagination I am not going to spend 8.29 for the one fish bait wonders. I have caught so many bass on the Pit Boss this year fishing it weightless above the grass, and also on a 1/8 oz weighted hook I will never buy a senko again. You can take a devils spear and rig it either direction and use it as a trailer on a swim jig. The Craw Fatty fishes a lot like a double wide beaver and again for half the price. Last but not least my son fishes the grass pig on a Carolina rig with great success. I believe its not so much the bait but all about the

right presentation at the right time and in this case for the right price!!!!!

I'm the same as you. I've had the best luck T-Rigging them with a 3/8 weight using a offset worm hook (not EWG). I've been fishing them by popping/exaggerated jigging motion pretty darn fast. I found this by realizing I'm catching more fish with my errant flips and burning it back to the boat than I was actually flipping them. Inserted a glass rattle into one and it was unbelievable, cast... WHACK! cast... BOOM! The Ocachobee (however that's spelled) and green with the pinkish belly are my 2 favorites.

I think one of the biggest reasons that they're so reasonable in price is that they're a petroleum based plastic. It's just cheaper to make them.

It's good to see someone with enough smarts to realize you don't have to spend a fortune on baits to catch fish. B)

Thanks for posting this thread. I have been very curious about these new plastics! With the Devil spear, I assume T-rig flat oreination and it will work like a Rage Shad. But, you have T-rig it vertically and it will be more like a swim bait? I am thinking about this bait for smallmouth.

Thanks, B)

Oops, I forgot to mention T-rigging-flat orentation with a keel weighted hooks produces good action?

Iv only used the spear and I love it go on ikes web site he's got videos with tons of ways to rig it. Just this morning I rigged it with the first three "ribs" cut off onto a I'll be trying it tomorrow in a tournament I know it will work just got a feeling

I am no longer enticed by the pros' support of any new bait as they are being paid to hawk the product.

I was disappointed that Ike said how good the Havock line is and it helped him in the Classic. We don't need advertising hype at the weigh-in.

So I was interested in your post and now may have to try the ones I purchased last month.

Time will tell but I still favor Senkos, Power Baits and Zoom plastics with JJs, MegaStrike or Carolina Luker Sauce. :)

I've caught a ton of fish on the Havoc baits, mostly the pit boss and fattie craw. They are pretty durable baits but without being stiff or sacrificing action. Pitching the pit boss into weeds contributed to 2 weeknight tournaments wins for me this year along with bunches of bass while I was fun fishing. My biggest bass of the year so far hit a pit boss T-rigged and hopped on a rock ledge. I'd like to try the bottom hoppers but nobody around here carries them and I don't really want to order them and have to pay shipping.

I hadn't bought into the Havoc deal but bought a pack of the pit boss on sale Dick's to give them a shot.

Tried it as a swim jig trailer and caught a bunch. I was impressed by the action of the appendages and the durability.

I used the Spear yesterday rigged sideways with a slit cut in the tail and mounted on a Scrounger head. (similar to what Ike had in his video referred to above). GREAT action I got a few hits but went back to Flipping a Pit Boss with a rattle (this thing is insane!).
