dave Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I loved her music. I can watch her youtube videos for hours. I was hoping for a recovery but... There was a tremendous talent under the tragic circus that her life ended up being. For those who only knew the circus, here are two performances. NO HATERS PLEASE Quote
GrundleLove Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 No haters please? So that means I can not post my opinions about her? Wanna know what NO ONE DID for her? Try and help. No one offered her any help, everyone who knew her just accepted their pay checks and looked the other way. I thought she was a joke, her music was o.k. at best when she wasent messed up out of her mind. Wanna know what else is funny? 3 weeks ago, was ANYONE saying a word about her, anywhere? NO. because everyone only cares when they die of self destruction, the whole world knew it was going to happen it was just a matter of time. wanna know what happened when some one told me she died? I went "Well that's interesting.." and then continued on with my life. I cant waste my time with drug addicts. 5 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted July 28, 2011 Super User Posted July 28, 2011 I think it still ironic that when an artist dies these days people still have to go out and buy all their music, like it's going to get removed from time Quote
brushhoggin Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 i dont care what anyone says that lady had class. she had a nice old school voice Quote
preach4bass Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I don't know that I'd ever heard of her until she was found dead. But, I listened to the first youtube video above, and she was certainly talented. Her death is unfortunate, but hopefully it can serve as a preventative lesson to those who are considering drug use. Sadly, it probably won't. This isn't the first time that an addiction has caused the death of someone too young, and it most likely won't be the last. Worse yet, while there have been many of the rich and famous that have fallen victim, are the untold numbers of average citizens that die without so much as a notice outside a greiving family. Not until society decides to stop lauding over addicts, for whatever supposed talents they have, will the cycle possibly end. Maybe it wouldn't have changed the outcome here, but what if everyone had just turned away their support for this young woman's "show" when her problems had first shown up. I'm not saying not to help, but to stop playing her music, stop all of the insane media coverage, to take away her doorway to further fame. Could it have changed her mind if she had known that the only way back to her fans was through sobriety? Quote
Sfritr Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Sorry guys but she was a habitual drug user. Why do we continually celebrate the drug addicts, users, pushers??? IMO, she was a wasted talent. Who cares, my prayers go out to her family but I have no feelings one way or the other toward her. She did it to herself, there will be another one just like her soon enough 1 Quote

I wasn't a fan of her music at all and when I heard she I died I was like: REALLY? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 29, 2011 Super User Posted July 29, 2011 I liked her music, but don't have any feelings about the rest of her story. Not being mean, I just don't care. 2 Quote

dulouz Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Her story is nothing new. It happens to unknown musicians as well the famous ones. Edit: Man, those videos are COOL! I have never listened to her until tonight, but I really like what she does (did) when she was sober. I hear a lot of Billie Holiday in her. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted July 29, 2011 Super User Posted July 29, 2011 Having watched my sister go down the same path with drugs/addiction (she was't famous so no one knew about it) that led to her death at a young age, I am surprised that people seem shocked that this happened. I could see it comming years ago. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted July 29, 2011 Super User Posted July 29, 2011 Another wasted life but we all have choices and she made hers. R.I.P. Quote
GrundleLove Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I used to play world of warcraft in high school, so i know what addiction is like. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I feel bad for what happened to Amy Winehouse, great talent, amazing voice. However, (I believe there were 14 Marines that were killed) the week Amy died and no mention of them, or recognition for them in the news paying respect. 3 Quote
brushhoggin Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Russell brand is next... i was gonna say man that'd be nice. then i realized that would be wrong, but still, that guy is a freakin tool Quote
