As the title states, just wanted to hear some good advice on rods with braid while jig fishing, so; what rod do you use with braid when jig fishing (not pitching and flipping). Need to get a new one and wanted some advice from experience.

Lamiglas 734C (7'3" Medium) and Shimano Compre 6'10" MH XF have both worked well for me.

Are you in the market for a spinning rod or baitcasting rod?

G. Loomis MBR 844c GLX a GREAT jig rod. I love it.

Ditto except I actually like the IMX version, same model number, better for jigging. Always afraid I am going to break the GLX model for some reason while jigging. I also really like the older Quantum Tour PT 6'10 Heavy action rod for the real heavy and thick stuff, just has a bit more power to get them out quicker, but they changed the rod this year, made with cheaper parts now.

Lets see, my two primary jig rods are a Cumara 7-2 Medium Xfast for 1/4-3/8 and a Loomis NRX 854. I also fish the 7-2MH Xfast and the NRX 852 and 853 a lot as well.

That said, I don't fish jigs with braid at all, ever. I have braid on one flipping rod, and one frog rod. That's it. In every other case of fishing a jig, I use Tatsu in 15 or 20.

I like my Dobyns 734 for fishing jigs. I LOVE my Dobyns 805C for fishing jigs.

Thanks guys. I am in the market for getting another jig rod next soon and this helps a lot to hear experience and what works. Now, the hard part will be narrowing it down. At least i know my confines now.
