New To Pa

Hello Everyone,

I've just moved a here a few months back from socal and wanted to pop in and say hello and ask a few questions.

I've been fishing Green Lane mostly since its not too far from where i live and have been to Nockamixon and Marsh Creek a few times. I usually bank fish at Green Lane since I do not own a boat and usually hit the deep creek part of the park.

I wanted to know if anyone here can recommend some places worth fishing and also guide me to a bass club. I'm a novice with the sport and just became serious about bass fishing over the past 3 years. Unfortunately, due to my work schedule in socal, i was limited to fishing a few times during the spawn, a few times in autumm, and nights during the summer. Maybe 10 times max a year. Suffice to say, I've got a lot of growing to do.

Now that I'm out here, i've been able to go out 2 or 3 times a week and really want to hone my skills as an angler.

Any and all help, tips, advice is appreciated. Thank you.

i know every lake in central pa very well and fish about four times a week. email me at jriverrider@yahoo.com if you want to fish some of the central pa lakes with me. we have everything from shallow basically marsh lakes to deep crystal clear smallie only lakes.. not too many big lakes but a huge variety as far as different types of bass fishing lakes are concerned.

I fish lots of ponds throughout the philadelphia area (I use google maps to locate 3-4 ponds and head out with a few rods). And I'm going to be fishing green lane alot this summer. Shoot me pm if you'd like to meet up or I can let you know which ponds I stop at in ur area.

I'm in the east central part of PA, most of the lakes around me are electric only and one that is unlimited is Blue Marsh but I try to stay away from it as we call it the "dead sea" , no grass or weeds and the population of fish is small for the size of the lake, a good day there is 4 or 5 fish. So I focus a lot of my fishing on the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers, unbelieveable smallmouth fishing, if you get the opprotunity to fish it by all means do so.

Hey, I know where you are! Ilive in Telford, about 35 minutes up 476 (traffic factored in, of course). I fish a pond around Nockamixon near the Marina on the north shore. I'd happily show you sometime. There is also Lake Towhee north of Nock. That place has some SLOBS in it. Dont forget Perkiomen Creek. The Northeast branch has trout in it, an the rest trout and smallies. Nothing big, but an ultralighters dream. Fly fishing is good, too.

I recently moved here as well; back in August. Work keeps me busy, so I dont have a lot of time. I try to get out on weekends when I can.

I could always use more fishing buddies!

i live in PA, doylestown to be exact, ive been to lake galena a lot 2 summers ago and last summer nockamixon all summer is where i fished, the lake is decently big, but you need to know how to fish it or it will kick ur *** everytime! haha it did to me until i figured it out, unfortunately I'm not home during the year, only from may until the 5th of september because of school, but let me know if you need some help with nock if you go, or if anyone has any other spots in the bucks county area don't be shy to say something, we can all help each other out here.....good luck

Hey man, domp all you know on me!!! I am yet to catch a bss on Nock. I dont have a boat, and I know its more of an offshore fishery, but if you know something, pleas, spill the beans.

Where else can one fish in Bucks county? Any good ponds close to the Telford/Souderton area?

OOOOO, I almost forgot: I read that there are smallies in the Perkomien Creek. Any knowledge? Spots? I'll figure the rest out.

Megastrike. as far as ponds go i don't really fish them because i have a boat, galena isn't really that great however two summers ago pulled out a 5lb largemouth, but wouldn't recommend it there, as far as the Nock goes, if your fishing from shore, check out the bridge, i believe its called the 663 bridge but not 100 percent sure, it has a cove in it, and i used to fish there when i didn't have a boat, i still do fish there on my boat and do well, theres a lot of lillypads there and good cover for bass, if you come into the entrance of the nockamixon park (by making a right hand turn) coming the way from doylestown or plum stead, u will only drive for a min or two, and its either the first or second bridge, can't remember, but right after ur go over the bridge pull over to the right, and u can park there, and u will see walkways down to the water, u can also fish another little cove that is connected to the lake through a small small waterfall that runs into the lake (u will see what I'm talking about when u get there). As far as baits go, i have caught 90 % of my fish at the Nock with a Booyah Top Secret spinnerbait, you can only buy these types at dicks, but also use t-rigs and carolian's and have done well with them as well when bass weren't as active, let me know if you have any other questions, or any spots of your own, enjoy

I made a trip out to Blue Marsh at the end of last year. "Dead Sea" is right. Total waste of time and gas. I'm going to have to look into Lake Towhee since I live north of Nockamixon. I think I pass it on the way to Nockamixon. Isn't there a campground there...or nearby? Boyscouts or something?

you should stop by the nock if you get a chance, some good fishing there if you know the right locations to fish.

Hey man, welcome to pa! I live in Se pa also. My favorite lake is Marsh Creek... Ten pounders are in that lake! Other lakes to try near the area: Chambers Lake (decent), Struble Lake (ok), Nockamixon (need boat), Octorara Resevoir (tough fishing). Lower Darby Creek/Del river, Susquehanna river/flats, Allegheny river. Blue Marsh lake. Farther away, Lake Wallenpaupack, Beltzville lake, Mauch Chunk lakee (awesome).

Pm me for some info on Marsh if you like.. I know that lake better than most.
