Hopefully no one else catches this beauty because lots of people fish this pond and I think lots of people keep the fish they catch

Got it around some timber with a finesse jig. 4.16 lb, PB of the season :) Not bad for up here in the area I'm living right now!

Thanks guys - felt good to get a decent one after seeing all the monsters you all pull down there lol

Yeah Big O I'm just really enjoying myself out there and learning a lot this year. I've started to fish jigs a lot more partly because I've seen the magic you create with yours!! This one came on a jig and craw trailer ;)

Deep - thanks man, Now I just gotta go out and beat this year's PB with the hudd!

Nice fish, but why waste a minute on green fish when Maine is noted for fantastic

brown ones? I'm told guys have 40+ days of smnallmouth in the 4-6lb range. I don't

know, but that's what I would be focusing on.

congrats on your new pb. I will be in Brewer wens. am before heading to Brownville to camp. I will be fishing Schoodic for smallies and yes I have had many 40 plus fish days up there. My biggest was just under 7lbs.

Well I didn't really feel like I was wasting time, and actually I enjoy fishing and had a great time catching that fish.

But yes, I would certainly like to catch 40 smallmouth a day in the 4-6lb range too. Unfortunately it's not always as easy as just wishing for something to come true.

I've only lived in Maine for a year and don't really know much about it or where to go to have such fantastic days fishing. And this body of water is close to where I live as I don't have tons of time to get out to remote smallmouth areas.

I've only been back into fishing for the past year or so, so to me it's pretty nice to get out and catch some decent bass in heavilly fished local areas. Like I said I enjoy my time out on the water and don't really think of it as a waste.

I DO hope to get out as much as I can and improve my tactics for targeting smallmouth while in Maine. As I do I will continue to post my catches, so hopefully you won't be so worried about me wasting my time the next time I post my PB of the season.

Yeah man I've read about your great luck at Schoodic on Mainebassman's thread! 7 lbs is amazing! I'm trying to plan a trip for me and my girlfriend to get up there for a few days and get into some bronzebacks for sure. I'll let you know how it went - thanks so much for the tip!!

pm me when you plan to go , I have no problem saving you time and helping you find the fish. It is fantastic smallie fishing. Just be sure to check the weather before you go , that lake is long and can get down right nasty.

Ha thanks man! Yeah man it felt really good to get a nice bass like that! Unexpected!!

lol that's funny about pickerel man they're really bad up here and when I first tried poking around out here looking for spots to fish I hooked way too many!! Luckily lately I've been getting more bass than those nasty slimy cigar fish with teeth ;) That's a step up at least.

I don't mind them give me a monster that's a fighter I'll take that but glad none on the year. 1 4# Bowfin but I love them things anyways so I don't argue.
