Hello! My wife and I bought a house on an 8 acre pond in April here in South Carolina. I grew up doing a lot of cat fishing but I'm now trying to learn about bass fishing.

When we first bought the house, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a few rod and reels. ie. Zebco 33's. I have caught a fair number of 1 pounders. I decided a couple weeks ago to start buying some nicer equipment so I bought a 6'-6" All-star MH rod and a Shimano Curado 200E7 reel. I like that setup a lot! This past weekend I purchased a couple Boyd Duckett rods and Bass Pro reels online. So I'm starting to build up some nicer equipment. I caught a nice 6 pounder a couple weeks ago on the newer setup.

I want to learn more about what size rod to use for the different baits, and what fishing line is best for those different baits. I'll be sure to ask these questions in other sections of your forum.

Well that is a little about me. Thanks for having me here...I'm ready to learn and contribute if possible. :)
