Packard Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 No offense but you are making a bunch of threads like this. Have you tried searching this forum or google? Quote
MuffinMan Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 if it bothers you then dont reply to my threads. Im new t the forum so im learning. Quote
Packard Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 So am I but it is pushing other threads to the bottom and people don't like to see the same old threads everyday. Quote
hatrix Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Bomber square A and little suspending minnows work good for me, and for top water lots of top water is super light like jitterbugs, heddon torpedos, poppers like a rebel popper, river 2 seas also has a super tiny hallow body frog I been using the past couple of days. Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted July 25, 2011 Super User Posted July 25, 2011 Here some little cranks I use and small frogs. I saw you also have a Light-Med spinning outfit the 1/4oz frogs might be better on that. My favorite is the Strike King Bitsy Minnow Black/Chartreuse the one in the fish picture. Quote
dwtaylor Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 rebel craw crankbaits! they are so realistic looking and they flat out catch em. nose hooking a 3in dinger/senko works well too. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted July 25, 2011 Super User Posted July 25, 2011 So am I but it is pushing other threads to the bottom and people don't like to see the same old threads everyday. Yet you replied to this thread, bumping it to the top. Twice. Ironic? If you can help answer a question, post. If not, move along. While often times it will get to the point, telling guys to "google it" or use the search button isn't really the helpful community feel we're after here. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 25, 2011 Super User Posted July 25, 2011 As for the OP, get some 1/32 to 1/8 oz. twister and bucktail jigs. Cast them out, and slowly swim them back. Catch many species. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted July 26, 2011 Super User Posted July 26, 2011 8lb line? Ultralites are rated 2-6lb. But if you're using 8, any average lure will do Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted July 26, 2011 Super User Posted July 26, 2011 any small crankbait will work, smaller sizes of rebel pop-r, smaller sizes of rapala original floater, small rebel craws, heddon tiny torpedo, inline spinners, bill lewis tiny traps, etc. a jighead and small finesse worm will work, but i generally try to avoid using single hook baits with an UL because you just don't have the backbone necessary to really set the hook hard. i can't imagine using a hollow bodied frog with UL gear. Super User Sam Posted July 26, 2011 Super User Posted July 26, 2011 Try Rooster Tails and small white grubs on a 1/32 fly fishing jig head. You will get line twist but you will catch a lot of bream, crappie and small bass. I caught a largemouth over 3 pounds on an ultra light at a private poind. Don't know who was more surprised, me or the fish!!!!! And remember, read, read and read some more and then go out and give what you read a try. Welcome to the Forum. Quote
tholmes Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 For ultralight crankin',I like to throw 1/8 oz. Ratl-Traps, Mann's Baby 1-, original Rapalas (in the smaller sizes), Rebel Wee Craws and Crickhoppers, etc. Tom Quote
Matt B Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 It may not be ideally suited for it, but I love throwing senkos on an UL rod. I just generally leave the hook point exposed so it's easier to hook the fish. I do miss fish, but I don't mind. Springtime on the local reservoir here and the 18-20" smallies eat those things up all day long. So much fun on the ultralight. Quote
herruberraschen Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Rooster tails, Bitsy Minnows, and Strike King mini-3 cranks. Quote
DaveT63 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I like to fish 4" senkos wacky style on my ultralight. I have caught 3 LM over 5 lbs that way. An absolute blast!!!! Quote
dhami013 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Strike King Bitsy Minnow. If I'm using an UL that's all I need to use. I've got almost every color. The all white one and the brown and orange one have had the best luck for me. Quote
