My Saros is 2 months old and I have rarely used it. It was very quiet and smooth when I bought it. Now the bearings sound dry. It makes a scrubbing noise about every half turn of the handle and there is already oil coming out the housing. Do you think I should lube the reel or send it back before cracking the seal???

Its a Shimano product so that should be expected lol, Seriously I would check with DVT before cracking the seal or send it back.

That doesn't sound like a bearing. It does however sound like you are missing a RD3455 (spool washer) there is usually a stack of 3 sitting on the spool axle just under the spool. It adjust the spacing of the spool edge from the rotor when oscillating on the inward stroke. If the stack isn't properly spaced, I would look in the box for the extra one. If the washers are all there, I would return the reel.

Good Luck & Tight Lines! :fishing1:
