gall Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 just today i broke my left side palming plate when i was cleaning my reel ( i accidently broke the plastic things that slide into place when taking it off and putting it back on) they are small little plastic pieces and without them i cant attach my palmplate back on. so i was looking at bps and saw they do rod and reel repairs i started looking and they were telling about the types of reels they repair and i saw they repaired pro qualifer and other reels from other brands i have a carbonlite reel and it wasnt mentioed but its a newer reel on the market by that i mean not discontiuned and its a bps reel also so i was wondering if anyone knows if they will fix it or not because im not spending a 120 dollars to get a new one Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted July 24, 2011 Super User Posted July 24, 2011 id try to order a replacement. Quote
Packard Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Call them and ask them for a new side plate. They have a ton of parts and I'd be surprised if they charged you for it. Quote
gall Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 yeah im heading to bps tomorrow to see what i can do thats the only thing wrong and alls i need is a new side plate to have it back in order do they have them in stores or do you think it has to be ordered in? Quote
Packard Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 I don't think they have it in stores, you have to order it from their warehouse. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted July 24, 2011 Super User Posted July 24, 2011 You won't find the sideplate in the store - your only hope at the store level would be if they replaced the reel. From your first post, it sounds like you've already been to the BPS Outdoor World Rod and Reel Repair shop website - give them a call about getting a replacement sideplate. Rod & Reel Repair Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted July 24, 2011 Super User Posted July 24, 2011 They'd probably have it on hand if you went to the Springfield BPS. The main reel repair center is right next door. ROAD TRIP!! Go ahead and go. Guys have made road trips for stupider reasons. Bring your VISA. I've never been able to get out of the Springfield store for less than $200. Quote
