I have three and, I've never caught a fish on 'em.

It ain´t the arrow, it´s the injun. ;)

Even though I have several I prefer the Baby Torpedo, the tiny is a little bit too tiny ( dink magnet ).

i've got one. you can absolutely crush some dinks at your local pond/lake on this thing. just be sure to change out the stock hooks for something more favorable, with split rings.

I won't dispute that, Raul. It's a confidence thing. I get skunked a couple of times on a lure and I quit throwing it. I catch plenty of bass on other topwater baits, but the Torpedo (in any size) ain't one of them.

DINKS!!!! No no no... Try this. Take the smallest one (i can't ever remember the tiny, baby, teeny, etc.) but which ever is the smallest and remove the back treble hook. Then you have a place for the line tie, hook, line tie... Put this about 12-18" in front of a spook or popper or a bass colored torpedo and you have predator chasing prey, or two baitfish, etc. Much like the front runners worked but I think this works better. Also works good in front of a senko or fluke/floating worm since I very rarely throw the senko.

I have 5 or 6 in three colors black/white, silver/blue, silver. I love them and usually have one on a rod at all times.

Does anyone else have a problem with these "barrel rolling"? I'm thinking a barrel swivel and leader might solve this? I have had a bunch of luck throwing these for smallmouth lately but on a steady retrieve they want to roll.

I have a baby Torpedo that I got last Wed. and I can't get the prop to spin at all. I've googled what I can do to make it spin and people have mentioned to loosen the screw and bend it different ways. Well I have loosen the screw and I've bent the thing every way I've read to try and I'm still not having any luck with it. Pretty aggravated that I can't get it to work properly because I've read lots of good things about the lure. Anybody else have this problem, and got any tips on what I can do to get it to work properly?

Twist the prop on one end in one direction, the other the opposite way..... worked for me.

It worked on a tiny torpedo I have had for years that has caught me fish from NY to Florida. That plug might have caught the most fish in my entire tackle box. I own several, different sizes and colors, but that one has always cleaned up. The color of that one is perch if I believe, but it has a great orange spot on it that looks like the orange on a bluegill, so guess it looks like a little bluegill struggling on the surface. That is the prop I had to fix because a fish wacked it and bent it up.

It maybe a dink magnet (I actually like catching fish, especially on topwater, so no complaints if it is only a lb) but have caught some in the 3lb range when working real close to some pads. It is the only lure I have caught two fish on at one time..... which was quite the thrill.

I also have the rapala version, a devil's horse, and a few other prop baits....... nothing. Sure not the lures fault, but I do like the action of the torpedo better. Has some squeak to it, nice wide V bubble trail, and I like to jerk down like I was walking the dog...... makes it dive a little. Have had a lot of strikes with a steady retrieve, pause, pop in down under quick, and then as soon as it move.... strike happens. I think it resembles an injured fish trying to get back to swimming normal..... but I do not have a fish brain, so who knows.

I have a few. It's one of my favorite topwater lures. The bass around here kill them after sunset on a calm night.
