I have 3 of the old golds and a wild spinning rod. I had an older LTX too but got rid of it, no problems, just couldn't fit it in my arsenal. Honestly, I compare just about every rod I get to the Golds when it comes to weight, balance, and sensitivity. I have only had one issue with the tip guide of my first gold grooving but it doesn't effect performance and seems to have been corrected in later models.

I have one that I use for frogging. 7'6 H. But my problem isn't the breaking issue as much as comfort now. Mine kills my hand with that short grip. I know someone posted about how to add this tape to fix it without changing much balance if change any but I'll have to look up again and try that.

i had a 6.9mh when they fist came out. it has been a champ i used it for 2 years and now my buddy has it. caught a lot of big fish on it, as a matter of fact my buddy flipped 7+lb fish in the boat the other evening not realizing how big the fish was.

We are all allowed to change our minds. I have recently done it myself. 6 weeks ago I was happy with my mix of Kistler and St. Croix rods, and would recomend either to any one. Well today after 3 broken Kistlers in the last 6 weeks, and dealing with Kistlers customer service dept. my remaining unbroke Kistlers, now matter how much I like them, are for sale............before I have another issue. At least if I break a St Croix (and I have) I know where I stand. Seeing that St Croix doesn't pay me to exclusivly fish with there rods, I will probably branch out again, most likely with Shimano or Loomis, who also stand behind there products. The only thing Kistler excel's at after the sale is dropping 3000 e-mails a week on you.

So does that make me a bi-polar moron?? I have never been the most tactfull member here, and have tossed names around like a child, but that seems a little harsh, even to me....unless he's a buddy who's stones you are busting.

Not if you don't post a pointless thread.
