Super User firefightn15 Posted July 17, 2011 Super User Posted July 17, 2011 Hey guys, it's been ages..... Years ago I had a Bersa Thunder .380, man what a great little gun; not not one of the elites, but it sure was a shooter. With Wisconsin recently passing it's version of a cc law I have just picked up a Bersa Thunder UC40. Other that the generally good reviews that I have come across, does anyone have any personal experience they can add? Micro, your thoughts? Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 25, 2011 Super User Posted July 25, 2011 Strong, well built, nicely engineered, accurate, visually appealing & very reliable, Bersa handguns are not on par with the most prestigious brands when it comes to finishing (plan jane). Quote

With todays ammunition , I'm not too sure about that. And for the price you can't beat it. I have a .380 which has been very reliable on the range so far. Quote
bweave09 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Not that this actually has anything to do with the quality of a Bersa, but a friend of mine claims that his Bersa "fired itself" and shot a hole in the ceiling of his girlfriend's apartment. It went between the blades of the ceiling fan, through the ceiling, and up into the apartment above him. Whoops. Luckily nobody was hurt Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted August 14, 2011 Author Super User Posted August 14, 2011 Well, FWIW, the Bersa 40 has been a great shooter. It's got a snappy recoil but not unmanageable. Out of the box it gave me an 8" group @ 30ft. which tightened up pretty quick after 30 or 40 rounds. The decocker isn't as pleasant as it could be but the single and double action pulls are what you would expect out of the more expensive counterparts; travel smooth and creep minimal. Definitely worth a look if your interest is in a functional semi-auto without paying for the name. Quote
