Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 17, 2011 Super User Posted July 17, 2011 Long time fishing buddy came up to fish for smallies. Kept telling me he would be happy to catch a five pounder but I knew better. In two days he caught two over 6lbs & one over 7lb. Roy's 7lb-1oz was only 21" long but had a 17" girth. My second favorite friends pb was actually my wife's best smallie. While fighting the fish she tripped over my tackle bag & fell on her butt while backing up so I could net it for her. . Luckily she kept the rod pointed up as she fell & the fish stayed buttoned up until she got back on her feet & I could net it. Pretty funny when it happened but she did get the fish in the boat. It would have been release unharmed, but also had a replica mount made for me to have memories forever! Jeff Quote
