TouchTooMuch Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I dont know if I am the only one, but everyonce in awhile I decide to go to one spot that I know I can catch fish. Its a huge pond that nobody lives around, I am not sure if anyone even owns it, Its a good 2-3 acres, and on the north east corner it is a bit shallower than the rest of the pond, and it has patches of tall weeds. If I ever have a bad day I go out there with a small popper in the weeds and always manage to catch atleast 6 bass, all a good 3-4 pounds (nothing special, but they're still fish!). So I was just wondering, does anybody else have there own little spot that not very many people no about, if any. You dont have to give a exact location, just a nice little description! Quote
LWD Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Nice spot you got. I was on the water paddling away from the dam headed home. Then I stopped casted out and reeled in my very first LMB. Little did I know I can try out almost all the lake and catch nothing but I go to this spot and it's almost like a guarantee. It's got standing timber on both sides but a nice gap about 20 ft patch of lake where I always like to cast at. It's been productive but some days I catch nothing even at the spot. Have a good one. Red Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 My buddies Uncle has a couple very small ponds on his property that I have access to. I take my boys out there so they can catch a few, much easier than taking them in my tiny boat. I haven't been in a while but I fear they are very near dried up, I hope it does not hurt the fish too much, hope they can make it through this drought. Cliff Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 15, 2011 Super User Posted July 15, 2011 My #1 spot on Toledo Bend, plenty of people know where it is, they just don't know who to fish it! Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 15, 2011 Super User Posted July 15, 2011 I have 3 spots like this 1 is pretty well known but no one realizes what's out there they just think its loaded with gills and carp and to thick with weeds to fish little do they know the avrege bass is 3+ I don't think iv got one under 2 outa there. Plus this one spot is on main street right next to the school so plenty of people see it just don't fish it. Quote

My work pond....private property and nobody can fish it except me and another guy who usually goes out on our lunch break. Very, very small pond but it's a nice relaxing lunch break full of big bluegills and decent bass(nothing big yet).I don't always hit it up,but when I do I've yet to be disappointed. My boss always ask me..catch anything? I got to work Saturday so I'll probably fish it during my lunch break that day. It's also a nice place to try some new lures to see the action of it...LOL Quote
TerryR Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 A power plant discharge. I occasionally see the people there, but they are always the same 2 or 3. You have to walk a ways in, but I always catch many bass there, including some big ones. The walk and the fact that the water looks like pea soup I'm guessing makes people think it ain't worth it.
