Gr8wall Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 so i was fishing a tournament yesterday and decided to use my grand spanking new lucky craft pointer 100sp. however, on the second cast, when i reeled it in it was missing one eye. Now i know over time, wear and tear happens, but this was only after the second cast and it didnt run into anything (it was running through clear object free open water). should i try contacting lucky craft directly and tell them of the problem, talk to the place i bought it (internet sale), or is it just futile? this sucks, but i guess in worse case scenario, at these things still effective with only one eye lol. thanks for looking guys Quote
Super User T-rig Posted February 19, 2007 Super User Posted February 19, 2007 This does happen sometimes but the lure remains just as effective! Quote
Gr8wall Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 thats good to know they are still effective, but it jsut stinks that some pieces fall off after really light use. this wont stop me from buying them though, cause gosh darnt hey are fun especially the lv100. Quote
senko_77 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 if you still have the reciept, then go exchange it at the store you bought it from. it works at bass pro. Quote
Gr8wall Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 dang itl, i bought it online form ***, what do you think senko? Quote
Pa Angler Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Cabela's sell replcement eyes if you have one near by I sometime replace them with red eyes anyway I to have lost an eye on the first couple of throws as well. Quote
senko_77 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 dang itl, i bought it online form ***, what do you think senko? It's really up to how much it matters to you. It would matter to me because I like everything that I'm fishing to be flawless, and missing an eye, while not really a big deal, would bother me. So what I would do would be.... Call the online store you bought it from. Say you have the reciept, or emial order conformation, or anything else proving you bought that lure. If that doesn't work then call Lucky Craft and explain to them what happened. After that, take Pa Anglers and glue on a replacement eye and hopefully it would match the other. Good luck Quote
Gr8wall Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 lol they actually sell replacement eyes? lol anywho i contacted *** and they told me to send it in, so hoefully everythign goes well. Quote
Bud Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Time you pay shipping one way that is going to one expensive LC. I would just fish it like it is. It will not make any difference to the fish. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 22, 2007 Super User Posted February 22, 2007 As usual, I'm in complete agreement with Bud. If it were convienent, like a trip to BPS for me, I would exchange the lure. Otherwise, fish it. The "beauty" of LC lures is mostly for fishermen. The action and general appearance will not be effected and that's what catches fish. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 22, 2007 Super User Posted February 22, 2007 I always keep extra eyes for situations like you have. Cabelas have 3-D eyes in assorted colors and sizes that work very well. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I would just give Lucky Craft a call and tell them what happened. They may be able to just send you some free Lucky Craft eyes. 1-800-270-3117 As for losing eyes, I have only had one LC bait lose an eye, a Pointer 65. Brad Quote
