Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 Never used these before, which brand and anything else you can think of, so I can make a sound purchase.. TIA. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 The best performing chatterbait is the Chatterbait. Use it with braid to get the most vibration. Some recent issues had less than quality components but for short term use, they are still the best. Most knock-offs with the blade attached directly to the jig head hook eye also have good vibration. The Pure Poison is a next best choice since the split ring is somewhat enclosed so the blade can strike the jig head. The knock-offs assembled wth the split ring connection are not as good in performance as the extra flex in the joint kills the vibration some. The model with the clip-on blade (don't remember the brand) can't be trusted in case a large bass takes it. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 The Strike King Pure Poison makes all other bladed swim jigs look like infomercial crap. Sharp hook (don't buy a Chatterbait if you want a sharp hook), quality skirt and blade and quality hardware. You WILL NOT find a better constructed bladed swim jig. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Super User Posted June 25, 2009 I ordered some strike king's, they were outta some of them..I also read revies about the Chatterbait brand, they said the same thing re: the hooks, ect... Jethro T......? dang Burley, you change names as often as I...well you get the idea...lol Thanks. detroit1 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I bought 2 Booyah's this spring and wasn't impressed. Alot less vibration. The head and skirt is pretty. That about sums it up. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 25, 2009 Super User Posted June 25, 2009 The Booyah features two weaknesses. The blade to head clip and the Leverage hook. Quote
