I was talking to my buddy who owns a gas station and he was telling me that cigarette sales was down but snuff was up. I don't do either, but I have a few friends who do dip. Why would you think that is? I know cigarettes are pretty bad, but dip has it's own issues as well? If you dip and have been for a while, do you regret it at all? Be honest!

I've been dipping for about two years now. Not that long, but it's already hard to stop.

I can go without it for days or weeks, but I always end up coming back to it.

I don't really regret it, but it does cost a lot of money.

It is better than smoking in every way though IMO.

I've dipped only a few times.

It was with my buddies chilling outside a sandwich shop in the middle of winter during the nighttime. It was like once a week thing. We'd harass the pretty girls walking by, occasionally we'd get lucky and they'd flirt back. We'd try to get them to dip with us. I found the time I was dipping to be very enjoyable. I liked it a lot. It was always a good night with a lip. It just made me feel all chill and enjoyed the moment. I don't regret those long winter nights dipping. I think I've gone though maybe 3 cans my entire life and I don't think that would effect my health at all. Of course I did stop dipping. Everyone I dipped graduated (my friends were older) and they went off to college or in the military. So when they left I stopped. I would never dip again probably because I'm more aware of the health effects. I don't crave nicotine at all ever, I was never addicted. but I do feel a little nostalgic talking about this and kinda wish I could have more nights like that again.

My friend had some peppermint flavored kind. Being curious, I asked if i could try some and gave it a fair try. Not terrible, but not for me. I don't like smoking either, well not tobacco at least

I don't dip or smoke ciggeretes because my dad hasn't had a full set of real teeth since he was 35 and he is 50 now. Thousands of dollars later of dental bills he now has implants but it would never have had happen if he didn't dip.

I've been dipping and chewing steady now for 23 years. The longest I went without it was 6 months. I enjoy chewing, which makes it even more difficult to quit.

I regret starting up again after the 6 months without it though, I was home free.

Chew is many times more addictive than cigarettes and has lots of sugar. I look for the sugar free Redman chew.

I think chew is a nice change from dip. I like how you just chew on it rather than it rotting your gums.

Its gross and nasty I yell at my students and bust them with it weekly I used to smoke and crave cigs every d**n day but resist the urge. If I had to guess why dip sales are higher then cig its probably because its not outlawed indoors like cigs u can dip where ever u want unlike smoke.

Try chewing for like a month straight. See if it doesn't mess your teeth, gums, and cheek up more than dip.

Regret it? Not yet...but I'm sure I will.It's a horrible habit...I know.

I switched because of many reasons.I was a smoker for awhile,I dipped back when I was younger, but changed to smoking now I've changed back to dip.

A-My job banned smoking on the floor

B-Smoking affected my kid's health

C-Realize I could fish with both hands and still get the calming tobacco effect dipping has.

I use Grizzy wintergreen....Still under $3 a can.Much,much cheaper than smoking.

I use about 4 cans a week or so...depends on the type of day/week I'm having.

I have been dipping for 14 yrs now and it sucks. tried quitting multiple times and just cant kick the habit. It sucks to have your 21 month old little girl see a bottle and call it daddys bottle bcuz she thinks im spitting in it. Regret it every single day.

I have been dipping for almost ten years now, was a smoker for about ten before that. I regret it, I regret not quitting (smoking) all together after basic training. I have tried to quit, but honestly didn't give it a fair effort probably.

Wuss. :D

I think spitting is a disgusting habit, so dip is definitely not for me. Personally, I'd rather smoke. I gave up cigarettes years ago, but I've been known to smoke a pipe now and then.

I never heard the term dip, I thought it was chewing tobacco. Do your wives and girl friends chew and spit too? How would feel about them doing it, for me it's a big turnoff, imagine what they think about you.

When I was in school girls hated it and wouldent even talk to kids who dipped I caught hell for smoking. Now iv noticed being a teacher and my nephew who dips the girls don't care around here being a redneck hick with a lifted truck for mudding is the in thing. When I was in school it was all bout the little imports and girls were well girly.

Dipped a can of Kodiak a day for 15 years.

Quitting sucked but I fell asleep with a giant pinch, woke up, hung over and puking my guts out. Never dipped again.

We used to mix RedMan and Big League Chew and call it a "Goo" when playing baseball at UC. That was good even if it sounds gross...

Sadly, I'm in the process of trying to quit smoking. One of my stratgies is to start chewing.

I figure it is the lesser of 2 evils, but whos to say. I used to chew copenhagen before I started smoking and now I just get the marlboro spitless pouches. They don't have the kick like copenhagen, but I can't walk around w/ a cope in and not spit. :P
