ghost Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I got both lures & have not caught a bass on either...so...if you've caught using either of these lures, please post a pic & a little blurb about it. I guess after spending alot of cash for these lures I'd sure like to see if other are catching using them. Thanks, I'll have a chance to really use them tomorrow...till then show me that these swimbaits are effective. Quote
KevO Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have both of those plus a Sebile Magic swimmer and have yet to catch a fish on any of 'em. Probably cause I don't use them enough. I would like to see evidence that they work too. Quote

I was expecting better results too because the action on them is so realistic Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have caught one fish on the Spro BBZ and have had two hits on it. All hits/fish have been on the floater. The one fish I did catch on it was about 11 inches maybe and hit the lure in the dark. I had a lot of hits that night (I think) it was dark and I couldn't see the bait and would feel some slight ticks. I throw the bait at least a few times on each trip and don't usually get much action on the bait. Quote
wagn Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 caught my first fish on the Spro floater last week. I don't have a pic because I'm at work. He was a little guy, maybe just under a pound. He crushed it though. Quote
aarogb Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I caught two bass on the BBZ-1 slow sink, but the they weren't big enough to be picture worthy. Quote
basspro96 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have caught one on a sebile swimmer. You know sometimes I think you can only use those baits at certain times. If you see abunch of shad school up I would use them. If not I don't think I would. But its all a matter of opinion and where you live. Quote
tritz18 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have caught three fish on the Tru- Tungsten and surprisingly it was on the fall, weren't very big fish though. but I was happy to catching something on them Quote
Infidel. Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have caught one fish on the fast sink BBZ-1. I wish I had a pic. I got it by making a long cast to a very steep wall and letting it sink 15-20ft, then ripped it up, let it fall back down and continued. On the third rip there was a 4.5lber on the end of the line. Now this was toward the back of a cove and there were schoolie striper chasing bait to the top. I figured if I could get below them I would be able to pick up a LM and it worked. That of course is the only time I have had luck on that bait. It is a good bait and it will fool some pretty nice fish but it will never take the place of a good old crank or spinner bait when it comes to just flat out catching fish. Of course the video of ol Simenlips they show at bass pro sure makes it look easy to catch fish with that bait doesn't it? Quote
Furbit Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Have only caught one on the BBZ so far. Have had a couple in clear water just hit it with there nose on the side of the bait, but they did not take it. I am thinking during the Fall Shad bite it will be better. Quote
GonzoFishing Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I've had alot of followers but only a couple of takers on the TT. Biggest being 2-lbs tops. I recently picked up the Spro but have yet to throw it. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I need a bbz1 shad for next time I go up to orlando. Ill bet it would smash those golfcourse pond bass Quote
ghost Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 It finally happened, I caught bass on the Tru-Tungsten & Sebile swimbaits! I was in this shallow area of the lake & noticed the bass were jumping, so I first threw the TT Shad & jerked it a couple times & then swam it. Got hit & was very excited...but it wasn't a big bass...no problem the swimbait skunk is off my shoulders. I then changed it up & casted the Sebile Magic Swimmer & caught another bass reeling the lure back. It felt just like a crankbait hit, felt pressure...realized it wasn't weeds & caught another small bass. I'm beginning to think after reading these posts & catching some bass that these swimbaits catch small bass, oh well at least I've caught! I then tried the Spro BBZ-1 Shad & no bass, I guess it was "just" a little too big. Prior to catching these bass I did catch other bass on a wacky rigged worm, drop shot, buzzbait, Spro's new Bronze Eye Popper, Xcalibur wake lure & BPS Rick Clunn jointed wake bait. I think I caught around 5-8 bass on different techiques & some lures that I bought during the winter & caught bass. I also tried out a new Deps Buzzjet & Megabass X-Pod but those lures did not catch, got some hits but maybe next time. I'll be bringing these lures w/ me when a buddy invites me to a lake that has big bass & pike...I know those fish will like these lures! Not bad for a real hot day on the lake on my pontoon boat...I did take a few dips in the shallow areas to cool off. When I got home I had heat exhaustion(sp?), I was very tired. First time out this year on my pontoon boat & it was a blast! Quote
