Super User Nitrofreak Posted July 12, 2011 Super User Posted July 12, 2011 Yes, I live on the Northwest side of C'ville near Fashion Square Mall. I use Rt. 20 and Rt.15 to get there. It is 78 miles from my house to the Rt. 701 ramp. It takes less than 1 1/2 hours. I have to go all the way through the middle of C'ville to get on the South side, plus the low speed limit in Scottsville, and Dillwyn. I live about an hour East of you, I would be taking 81 to 64 over Afton then 20 to 15 but to read what you have posted about Briery I think it would be worth the trip. By the way that was a pretty nice pic you posted, I assume that was Briery with the tree stumps and the sunset. Quote

Fork is a 27,000 acre Briery Creek Lake. Quote

Super User Nitrofreak Posted July 12, 2011 Super User Posted July 12, 2011 What happened to the voting poll? The 30th still good for me. The poll looks like the 30th is good for all so far, as far as where it has not been decided yet but it looks like Briery has the most votes. If it is ok with all can we go ahead with Briery on the 30th and are we going to do a meet and greet or just show up and fish when we get there, what time etc... Quote

SteveinVA Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Are there motor restrictions at Briery and if so what are they? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 13, 2011 Super User Posted July 13, 2011 Are there motor restrictions at Briery and if so what are they? A maximum of 10 HP for gasoline motors can be used. In that area, Sandy River Res, and Nottoway Lake have the same restrictions. I see lots of bassboats there using the trolling motor. Quote

It is about 1 mile from the Rt.701 ramp. The other facilities are in the planning stage. http://www.brierycreeklake.com/ Quote
