Oscar O. Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Family trip to Vegas, any places that would make it worthwhile to bring my gear? I know there is Lake Mead but I'm not sure if the parents are willing to pay for a guided trip. So maybe a smaller lake that can be fished from shore? I recall seeing a place called Sunset Park, but it doesn't look that great. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 19, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 19, 2011 The only place I know is Mead. And with 100+ degree days right now, a guide simply isn't worth the cost. Quote
Oscar O. Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Yeah I would fish Mead but I don't really have the means to fish a big lake like that. I think I'll just stop by this Sunset Park that's not too far from the strip. Hopefully I'll catch something, because there's not much else for me to do there haha. Call me weird but I like the heat, I actually hope the heat keeps people/other fishermen away so I can have the whole lake to myself to figure out Quote
Kyle Brod Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 i live in vegas, there's not too many places. The one i go to pretty often is tule springs/floyd lamb park. it has about 4-6 small/medium ponds that are good for shore fishing. If you are just getting dropped off, the cost is only 1 dollar, but if you want a parking space its 6. ill give you a link to a website. http://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/TextOnly/Find/12095.htm Quote
Oscar O. Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Thanks, I remember seeing lake this while I was searching around, but I came back from Vegas not too long ago. I'll remember this for next time though (I know I'll be back eventually), do they have good bass fishing? I remember reading it was like a trout pond or something. While I was there my cousins took me night fishing at Lake Mead from shore, no bass but we caught some catfish and a carp with frozen anchovies. Quote
Kyle Brod Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 well actually the only thing i've caught there was bass. the only downside is the park hours, 8 to 8. so they close when the good fishing starts. but i have seen some monster catfish swimming in there, and some giant *** golfish or something. goodluck Quote
Oscar O. Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 How big is the average bass over there? Quote
