bass wrangler569 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I was wondering what your favorite plastics on a carolina rig are. I'm currently using zoom brushhogs, space monkeys, and lizards but I would like to broaden my c-rig horizons. What do you guys like? Quote
Steven Ladner Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I like lizards, but also use zoom trickworms and flukes. Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 Shoot, almost any plastic works on C rig, my fave is a 6" roboworm in a few different colors. A bait that I think may be my goto bait, is the ragetail lizard..this thing has major action.. Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 At the time I have a couple of favorites. For my big c rig I use a lot of 8' lizards and 10" worms. On my reg c rig I am really loving Gambler Ugly otters,Wave Tiki Monkey, and Grande Bass Mutants. If you can gets some mutants look into them, they are killer. Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 It amazes me how many people don't use senko type baits on it,unless of course they are just keeping it a secret. Flukes, sluggos, trickworms are among my very favorite Other baits I frequently use would be brush hogs, sizmic and horny toads, sweet beavers, and especially paca craws. The hollow body of the paca is very well suited for a c-rig. Also would like to add that instead of always switching baits try changing leader lengths. This can make the difference that most people miss. Quote

The Outdoorsman Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 In no particular order: Berkley Beast 7" super fluke GrandeBass Mutant or Rattlesnake 10" worm I like the idea of a Paca Craw. Quote
bassman31783 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 May sound funny but last time I was tossing a Carolina Rig I was using a Floating Stanley Ribbit Frog. I was absolutely killing them on it. I may not go back to what I was using before ;D Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted June 23, 2009 Super User Posted June 23, 2009 I like the idea of a Paca Craw. Don't ever put a small piece of a foam earplug into the body cavity.Oops did I just say that? :-X Quote
cabullwinkle Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Hey Guys, I like to use brush hogs a whole lot, these things have pretty good action. Great idea of using the senko. Quote
The Outdoorsman Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Anybody ever thought about using a three-way swivel to put more than one bait out there on a c-rig? Quote
jimmieO Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I have heard of folks tying on two leaders with sluggos or flukes attached. Quote
basspro96 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Ya you can do that and make a chasing bait kind of thing but when casting it can all become a huge mess. I wouldn't reccomend it. Oh and I also like Carolina rigging a a DD22 Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 No one said anything about the old standby! The GRUB, like the Chompers or Kalins grubs or one I really like is the new Netbait twin tail grub ( 3 in. ). Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 I also like the idea of the frogs or floating frogs. I will have to give that a try. Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 24, 2009 Super User Posted June 24, 2009 A big ole worm like a 10 Anaconda or Gene Larew 12 El Salto Grande Quote
