NGaHB Coyotes open from oct. 1 till march 31 fox is oct.25 thru feb15 but both are closed to centerfire durring open deer seasons exept where rifle is legal and open(not where I live or hunt. So I don't get out for the yotes or fox till after xmas but I'll smoke em with the bow or shotgun if given the chance. Quote
North Ga Hillbilly Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Well thats interesting, I didnt know anyone had any sort of fondness for them. If you get the itch and end up in GA, any time of the year, there are plenty of em down here, and we would be very appreciative for your help with some population control. They seem to run in a two week pattern here around the house, you could make a calender on it. NGaHB Quote

NGaHB I think most states are year round I know texas is but new york is just retarded I hate this state lol. Rumor has it they extended deer season it used to start middle of october now word has it its opening october 1st for an extended bow season. Quote
North Ga Hillbilly Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I like alot of things about Georgia's game management; however, I am not a fan of the number of doe days we have. In the northern region, where I hunt, doe days go almost year round. Ive seen trucks with multiple does weighing less than 100#. But I guess it makes the insurance companies happy. Are yall one of the states where shotguns are most all you can use? NGaHB Quote

They just this last year made crossbows legal but only in the late archery and muzzleloader season. Which is dumb if you ask me why take a cross bow and be limited to 80yds I supose when u can shoot a ML 200YDS I'm not a fan of crossbows or even know how far they shoot but id take a ML. I guess there ok for archery only areas but I still like compounds or a long or recurve over a crossbow. We don't have certain days or seasons for does unless u count nuisance permits but regualr seasons (oct 1 thru dec 21) if u got a tag u can whack doe or buck of any size. Quote

RoryO Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Check four cams the other day on the main farm we deer hunt and it was kind of disappointing that we only got one good buck on cam out of about 2000 pictures over a couple weeks. Especially with all the 2.5s we had show up last year we were expecting pretty good things from our first pull. But it's been hot and it's still early. I know once it starts cooling down some that the big boys will start showing their faces. Here's the buck we got on cam. Also got my mount back from last year about a week ago. He's the buck on the right. He was all scarred up when I killed him and the taxi did a great job leaving the scars like I wanted. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 4, 2011 Global Moderator Posted September 4, 2011 Finally got my camera up on my favorite stand. Sat out for a week and got quite a few pictures with some pretty decent deer. This first one I think is the same bad boy I got a picture of last year. Quote
RoryO Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 Great looking bucks Blue, good luck. Opening day's tomorrow. Wish I could get out but I have class til 3 and still have to drive home and get all my stuff together. I'll be hunting all day Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday morning also. Can't wait to see how this season turns out. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted September 18, 2011 Super User Posted September 18, 2011 Are you guys finding that your deer are all nocturnal still, any daytime pics coming through yet? I have a lease in GA and my brother says all the cams have only night time activity. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 22, 2011 Global Moderator Posted September 22, 2011 I have been getting some really early daylight and evening pictures. I went out tonight and had deer crawling all over around me, across the field a couple nice bucks too! I had one nice doe that I rushed the shot on and whiffed under her Had another big doe walk right under me and never had a good shot. Felt good to get back into the old treestand Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 30, 2011 Global Moderator Posted October 30, 2011 Anyone having any luck yet? I haven't been out hardly at all but I've seen nothing but squirrels and a coyote the last couple times I've been out Put up a stand on a new piece of property that is small but has lots of promise. Hoping to get a Halloween buck this year Quote
