I'm returning my big gulp bc I didn't like the 7'11" for flipping, instead I want 7'6, I also decided to spend a little more to get exactly what I want. I've narrowed it down to either the gloomis imx 7'6 hvy mod fast tip / or the st.croix legend xtreme in the same specs. They're about the same price, same length same actions. Which is the better rod? I take care of my equipment and don't splurge a lot like this for a rod so I want something that will perform and be worth its money. What do you think?

I own more St. Croix than G. Loomis because of the "value" for certain

technique specific rods. For your application I would go with the Loomis

flippin' stick.

I'm sure the dobyns are great rods but I'd rather purchase a rod from a company who has the background and reputation in the industry from making quality rods for years

I don't believe you would be disappointed with either but I too lean towards the Loomis flippin' stick...........Al
