Just purchased from ***.com some 12lb camo green 275 yds Yp-Zuri Hybrid Fluorocarbon Line. I also purchased a Spro BronzeyeFrog65 in Watermelon Red. Just recieved them in the mail. This is the first actual lure that i have bought after reading through on the website, as well as line.

What do you feel is the best way to work the Spro Frog? What time of day do you feel would be best? Based off of what i have read im thinking dawn, dusk, and night. Also, any times on how to walk the dog?

Early morning and late evening.

Cast.

Let sit until the splash waves dissapate.

Pop!

Sit.

Pop - Pop!

Sit.

Pop-Pop-Pop.

Sit.

Try to find the cadenace they want.

They will hit it when it stops.

Throw by wood; along the shoreline; brush; docks; pilings; under trees; any wood you can find; piers; over rocks; over pads, in grass; in weeds; and any water from 6-inches to 8 feet.

When they hit it, wait to feel the fish's weight or count to 2 and then set the hook hard over your head to cross their eyes.

Use a heavy rod that can handle the line test size. You may want a 7:1 reel to pull them out or go with a more powerful 6:1 ratio.

Have a needle nose pliers to help remove hooks.

You will miss them. Not totally your fault as some bass will hit it to try to kill it.

If they miss it, throw a wacky rigged Senko at the same spot as soon as you can.

I catch most of my frog fish in the middle of the day, and I mean "high noon." The whole dawn and dusk thing is a myth, perpetuated by the fact that that's the only time people throw them.

The best retrieve is an easy paced, walk the dog retrieve, over open water, just inches from heavy slop. Sometimes you have to go over slop to get to these open pockets. This frog excels at that.

great info.. if i may add the rod you use should be somewhere between 6'6 and 7'4 or so, whatever is more comfy to you. you're not planning on using the 12lb flouro with it are you????? you need some braid instead if you are.

I bought the fluoro for cranking, spinners, and senko's.'

I'm going to buy braid for all my topwaters.

I can't remember the size of the rod i have, im pretty sure it's 6'6", w/an H20 xpress baitcaster.

John I could NOT agree more. I think midday is the best time to fish, or at least it can be.

Hookingem and I nailed em the other day at 2 on Rage Craws bumping the bottom.
