Fat-G Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Anybody have any? Thinking of getting one. Maybe something on my arm that a sleeve would cover. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 I've got a few. Going to be getting more done eventually. Still trying to find a decent artist around here that can do portraits before I spend the cash for my next project. Quote
OHIO Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 You're 18? I would wait to get one if I were you, unless it's something that means a lot to you. I was thinking about getting one, but I couldn't find something that I wouldn't regret 40 years from now. If you do get one, please do not get your last name, area code, or birthday. Quote

That reminds me of the story about the young gal who came home to brag to her Mother about a tattoo she had just got. "It's a beautiful rose that's right over my heart" she told her Mom. Her mother replied; "Isn'tthat nice.... When you get to my age, you'll have a long stemmed rose!" Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 I have 10 and am far from finished. Honestly I only have 1 I may regrete but at the same time I won't because it was and still is a huge part of my life I have my wifes name down my right ribs. All mine though I thought long and hard on and made my own in some way if I found it in a flash folder I had johnny(my tattoo guy) alter it to be diffrent. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 WHY would you want to ? If you got one , why would you want to hide it ? With that said , can anyone explain why they decided to get the body art ? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 For me its just a way to express myself for the most part. Like on my ribs I have a giant koi fish in a waterfall pool with cherry blossoms and in the mist off the waterfalls it says "to over come all difficulties" to signify graduating college and BS of a time it was almost gettting kicked out due to being poor dealing with druggy roommates and just all kinds of other family issues. I got the koi done soon as I graduated and koi fish are said to bring luck and prosperity and protection. The other one I have that's a popular one people like to ask me about is my 2 on my R and L forearm on the right I have "death is certain" in all solid black ink old english font and the left says "life is not" in oe but not filled in. Kind of my own spin to the brave heart qoute"every man dies but not every man truely lives" something along them lines. I got this done when a close friend commited succide for unknown reasons as far as I'm concerned then a week later another close friend was killed in an bike accident. Just kind of saying live life to the fullest and have no regretes. Quote
GrundleLove Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I sometimes have mixed feelings about tattoo's. On one hand i ponder about how i think that people get them for attention. I mean seriously, everyone i know who has them has some nonsense story about why they got it and blah blah blah...but what i really want them to say is "i like it because it think it looks cool and i want attention". Seriously, I have no problem with people getting them because of that reason tho, that is why I am torn about my opinions towards them. I guess there is nothing I hate more than stupid tattoo's. The cliche tribal arm band, the cursive last name across the chest/forearm/ribs...its so nonsense, everyone has them and you are not unique. But is that the point? to be unique? Or is it like i said earlier, if you like it and it makes you happy then that is ll that matters? I dont know anymore. I want one tho. I would probably only get one and it would be on my back between my shoulder blades. The one I want to get has no back story other than I like the artist and I think it looks cool. p.s. is it sad that my girlfriend has 4 tat's and i have none? Quote
shootermcbob Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I don't have any and don't really understand the need to mark up one's body. That said, this is still a free country and folks can do as they please. they are just not for me. Quote

Well.....I'm sure spending money on a tatoo helped keep you that way for a little bit longer! Quote
Super User slonezp Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 I've got tattoo's on my legs, arms, chest, back, and bottom lip. No real meaning for most of them. dragons, gargoyles, naked broads, bald eagles, some M.C.Escher artwork, and vulgar obcenities. Got them when I was 18-28 years old, I'm 41 now. No regrets but probably wouldn't get another one. My mother won't let me swim in the pool at her condo complex because it's embarassing to her LOL. Quick story. A few years back my sister finds my 4 year old nephew had drawn all over himself with magic marker. She asked him why, and his response to her was "I want to be like Uncle Paul" Do yourself a favor. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET A WOMANS NAME TATTOOED ON YOU. Tattoos last forever, relationships don't Quote
Super User slonezp Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 WHY would you want to ? If you got one , why would you want to hide it ? With that said , can anyone explain why they decided to get the body art ? Everyone has different reasons I suppose. For myself I think some of it had to do with living in Chicago and some of it with riding motorcycles. Kind of a tough guy thing. Then for some odd reason it can become addictive. I think nowadays it's trendy or some type of, for lack of better words, fashon statement. My 21yo son recently got his first and second tattoo's. The first was a tribute to his best friend who had passed away. The second is just because he wanted another one(the addiction). Quote
hookingem Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I know Hayden (Fat-G) wants the Loomis fish on his arm, or so he says.... Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted July 6, 2011 Super User Posted July 6, 2011 I have my back done up. As well as one that takes up most of my upper left arm. Both are tats Ive wanted for a long time. This fall I will be finishing up the remainder of my upper left arm and starting on my legs. I swear the things are addictive. My reasons for getting them? I just like the way they look. There are no stories attached to them and I really could care less what anyone else thinks about them. Like I said, I just like the way they look. 1 Quote
Robert Riley Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 First off, Grundlelove, i just tried to wipe that bug signature of my screen. lmao. On topic now, I've been thinking of getting a tat of a Northwestern art style bird on my back right shoulder blade. Which also happens to be my casting arm! I think that's just a great idea for a tat. Now, i wont be getting it until i get really drunk, or hopefully until im out of college, so hopefully another 5 years. So that gives me plenty of time to think about it. -RR Quote

Well.....I'm sure spending money on a tatoo helped keep you that way for a little bit longer! Nah because by the time I had graduated I was working full time for nissan/infinty dealership in buffalo got the job without sending a resume or anything started the day after I graduated. Plus I get a killer deal with the guy I go to he gives discounts to military and anyone who refers him customers. He won a tattoo show from that piece for best asian art and that got me a free tattoo wich I used for the giant scorpion I have running from my shoulder all the way down my arm. Quote

Fat-G Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 What are you thinking of getting? Well I'm pretty sure you can't do this, but I want the G Loomis fish on my left arm. Under my shoulder, above the elbow. I have mixed feelings about tats as well. I feel some people rock them well, while others look dumb. For example this dude came in the store the other day, big black guy, and had something on his throat. On any other I would have thought it was stupid, but this guy looked like a BOSS. I think he will regret it in his older age, though. I was also surprised how many "good" girls at work have them. I think it is very unattractive on women. Quote

Fat-G Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 I've heard you should want it for at LEAST 6 months to make sure you really want it, but it symbolizes bass fishing (to me, I always think of the G Loo fish when I hear bass), and I am gonna be fishing for my whole life. Why the hell not? If anything it will be something to remember my prime by. Quote

I highly doubt Gary Loomis will sue you for having his logo on your arm. It does look like a cool tattoo to get, so I say go for it. If I ever get a tattoo, it would be of a largemouth. Just gotta find the right one. Quote
Fat-G Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 Word man. I was thinking about this a couple months ago... "If I were to ever get a tattoo, what would it be of?" Instantly I thought of that. I might just have to. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 6, 2011 Super User Posted July 6, 2011 I think it is very unattractive on women. I think SOME look attractive. Just think of all the hot, tan, broads with lower back tattoos. I'll have to take a picture of what i'm getting when I turn 18. I've wanted it since I was 13. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 6, 2011 Super User Posted July 6, 2011 Haha my dad has also throw'n around the idea of the G.Loomis fish idea. I think alot of fisherman have. Quote
