Morelures Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I have been throwing a 3/8 swimg jig with a rage tail craw (cut shorter) and I cant put this thing down! I was wondering what some other people use for there Swim Jig trailer? Quote
atlbassin Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 my buddies use the GYCB flappin hogs for a chunky presentation, but I am with you on this one. Any of the rage craw products are what I use. bass cant seem to get enough of that action Quote
Super User deep Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 RI skinny dippers, for 1/4 oz jigs. Watch this video (the title is a bit misleading): P.S. I just use a smaller version of what Mr. Allen uses. Smaller head, smaller trailer. The point is the trailer should "overpower" the head, and move it from side to side. He also talks about the secondary actions. The tail paddling is the primary action, it causes the head to move and the skirt to flare out and in. That's the secondary action. Quote
Bass Junkie Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I personally like Yum! Money Craws /Wooly Bullee and single tail grubs. However, the old Powerbait Beasts were great. Just a shame you can't find 'em anymore..... Quote
James Yalem Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I'm old. I still use Uncle Josh pork frogs as my jig trailer most of the time. When I swim a jig I like the No. 1 size because of its extra bouyancy.. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 I'll usually throw a handy dandy Rage Craw but i've started to get some nice bites on Flukes (White Pearl) and Strike King Shadalicious Swimbaits (The smaller ones) in Sexy Shad. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Zoom ultra-vibe speed craw. or plain speed craw...great action. and a lot more for the money than the Rage (although they work well too) 1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 RI Skinny Dipper, Rage Craw, Single tail grubs, Ribbon tail worms, LFT Live Magic Shad...ect. But most commonly, the Skinny Dipper. Quote
SausageFingers Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Paca Chunk or a Rage Chunk have been staples for me this season Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Rage craws, single tail grubs or Sweat Beavers Quote
Wisconsin Heat. Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 a twin tail grub, bu i rig it vertically so the claws better mimic the tailfin of a bluegill, i also like paddletail worms like half of a zoom speed worm Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 6, 2011 Super User Posted July 6, 2011 Zoom super chunk Zoom salty chunk Netbaits paca chunk Netbaits tiny paca chunk Quote
dude loves to fish Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Power Team Lures Craw D'oeuvre works well. Quote
JoePhish Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 I like the back end of a Swimsenko. Best re-use of a bait, IMO. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 8, 2011 Super User Posted July 8, 2011 Hey slonezp, why do you rig the paddle tail with the paddle pointing up? Just curious because swimbaits and such have it facing down. Quote
Fat-G Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Hey slonezp, why do you rig the paddle tail with the paddle pointing up? Just curious because swimbaits and such have it facing down. It makes the baits swim with a downward motion, like if you fish a Thumper "backwards". Quote
NateFollmer Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Rage Craw, 4 inch grub or small swimbait when its a good bite. Whiptail Worm, 2 inch grub or 2 inch dual tail grub when the bite is slow. Quote
