Super User 00 mod Posted July 2, 2011 Super User Posted July 2, 2011 What weight size do you use most for t-rigging? Jeff Quote
BassThumb Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 1/4 oz is a good place to start. They also seem to sell out faster than the other weights in my local stores. I use mostly 3/16, 1/4, and 5/16. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted July 2, 2011 Super User Posted July 2, 2011 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 for me 1 Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted July 2, 2011 Super User Posted July 2, 2011 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 for me I use a 1/8 to a 3/4 oz. But I have 4 rods that I fish the T rig so I never have to change weights. 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted July 2, 2011 Super User Posted July 2, 2011 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 most of the time. 1 Quote
Super User 5bass Posted July 4, 2011 Super User Posted July 4, 2011 It all depends on depth and wind. The deeper the water or higher the wind = heavier weight. I like 1/4 oz most of the time if I can get away with it. Quote
PondBoss Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 As light as I can get away with, unfortunately sometimes that is 3/4 oz. Usually 1/8-3/8 on normal days but when it's windy or dead calm, I'll go to the extremes. Quote
Fat-G Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 1/4 by far for me. If I'm fishing (pitching) to laydowns FAST from a boat in say... 5+ FOW, 1/2 oz. and up. Water 10+, 1/2-3/4. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 4, 2011 Global Moderator Posted July 4, 2011 1/4-3/8 most of of the time. Down to 1/32 and up to 1oz if the situation calls for it. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 4, 2011 Super User Posted July 4, 2011 The weights vary but usually 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4. It really depends on the time of year. During the summer I use heavier weights. In the fall and winter lighter weights. I try to get away with the lighest weight possible when possible. And to throw a wrench into your replies, try throwing your plastics weightless and see what happens during the summer months. Just a suggestion. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 4, 2011 Super User Posted July 4, 2011 And by the way, I use a regular lead bullet weight, pegged. Sometimes, in a tournament I will go with a tungston. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted July 4, 2011 Super User Posted July 4, 2011 No weight,3/8, and 1oz. are my most used sizes Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 5, 2011 Super User Posted July 5, 2011 1/4 oz tungston, unpegged Quote
Bass Junkie Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 1/8 oz. unpegged almost exclusively. Anything heavier is jig territory Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 6, 2011 Super User Posted July 6, 2011 On the spinning rig I will use 1/16 or 1/8 depending on the lake conditions. On the baitcaster I will use 3/16, 1/4, or 5/16. Quote

I usually use 3/16 or 1/4, but when the Kansas wind starts up, I will go as heavy as 1 oz. to maintain bottom contact. Tom Quote
