The other Havoc baits that have been been produced,maybe Berkley has something there but these I have listed here,I just dont understand the hype behind them,other than maybe the price.

I think the cheap price is the hype or gonna be the hype. They may just be beating other manufacturers to the punch on this one. In the future price WILL BE the deciding factor on which baits people buy. Times are changing.

It's a very different plastic than is being used by other companies. The Pig and Skinny Dipper look somewhat similar, that's where the similarity ends. The Grass pig moves better, it comes through slop better, it has more belly roll, it's softer but more durable. Thus far, all of the Havoc baits I've used are far more durable than competitors. The Deuce isn't just another twin tail, either. It's got a solid rib on the back of the legs tapering all the way to the ends, it's got more action, harder swimming with more spring back to being curled than other baits. It also has more of a body taper allowing the entire bait to undulate more.

Call them similar by looks, that's fine, even reasonable. What's not reasonable is to judge them before getting your hands on them and giving them a shot. You'll likely be very surprised by them; I have been.

I spoke with a Pure Fishing rep several weeks ago about Havoc baits. Berkley has seen a diminishing market share with the Powerbait line and they sprung the Havoc series to meet a demand for value priced baits. It was a hype until enough consumers, at least tried the baits. I myself was some what skeptical but tried three baits. They all produced and earned their price tag and them some. This is one product that I can say, "don't knock it until you have tried it." It's no miracle bait, just another viable option.

I also think that the price tag of these baits are part of the hook to them, and it's working. These baits may be similar to other baits but that's pretty much the way of the fishing world. How many baits out there are similar to another bait? Almost every popular style of bait is made by several companies with slight differences. So if they are all similar in looks but one is a couple dollars cheaper, who isn't going to at least try the cheaper one? I'm as skeptical as anyone but after trying a few of the Havocs I can say for sure they aren't being bought just because they're cheap, these baits work.

I have used the Pit Boss, and it catches fish. I was just checking out the Bottom Hopper and they have some interesting colors, and the price is right. I see TW has just started their %15 off 4th of July sale, might be time to scoop some of these up. But the last thing I need is more bags of plastics, I'm going to try and hold off until the Labor Day sale.

You can't tell if any bait is crap or not until you have USED it. Don't care what brand it is. By the way, why do they say these baits don't have power bait scent? The smell like PowerBait to me.

Uh, I'm going to strongly disagree. Believe me, I use powerbait worms all the time, and they are still my #1 confidence soft plastic. I can smell a powerbait worm from 10 feet away, but cannot smell anything besides the plastic smell on the havoc baits. Like others have said before, this is made from a different plastic, so perhaps that is what you are smelling. Open a bag of powerbait original scent and a bag of havoc baits and you will see what I am talking about.

They may not be as strong. But I'm sorry it is there. Even the amount of scent from bait to bait in the power bait line is different strengths. But I'm sorry you can't say there is no power bait smell to these baits. At lest the ones I have anyway.

They are advertised as "scentless", so why would they smell like powerbait? They smell alot like plastic to me. The only way they could be better was if they had the powerbait smell IMO.

I know what Incheon is saying, they do have a scent that smells just like some other baits that are sold in Powerbait packages. But, this is just the smell of the plastic they use I believe.

my favorite havoc bait. great on a t-rig. even better rigged "sideways" and used as a swimbait with a keel weighted hook.

well they were $3.75 at dicks now they 2 for $5 just like the yum LPT series(yums old formula soft plastics). anyway i bought some awhile back and i had luck with the duece as a jig trailer......caught 1 fish, lost one at the bank, lost some more and atleast two hawgs.

The Pit Boss has been a solid producer for me so far, reminds me of a Beaver bait with the flapping action of a Paca Craw.

What's not to get? Good, durable versions of expensive baits, a few new innovative baits. And not nearly as expensive as other brands.

I love the Pit Boss, it is similar to a lot of beaver baits, but does have a style all its own as well. The Devil Spear is just cool, haven't thrown it yet. The grass pig is a nice swimmer, and puts as many fish in my hands as the skinny dipper did. I'm a fan of the Havok!
