SausageFingers Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Here's another vote for the Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Great stuff. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 12# Fluoro. XPS Is great and relatively cheap. Quote
endless Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 12# Fluoro. XPS Is great and relatively cheap. X2 and I think it's still on sale. I bought the 14#. The 12# is .012 is 14# is .013 diameter. Not sure if there's much difference between the size or not. Yep XPS flouro still on sale 20%. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Any quality mono for top waters and shallow runners, and a quality floro for deeper crankbaits and worm/plastics. If you only have one reel, I used BPS Excel 14lb mono for a long time for everything and caught many bass. Quote
NH Tracker175 Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 thank you for all the input i will be going to check all these lines out. Quote
NH Tracker175 Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 i was looking at this line earlier tonite.how long have you used this? and do you use the 30lb test on your baitcaster? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 i was looking at this line earlier tonite.how long have you used this? and do you use the 30lb test on your baitcaster? Suffix 832 is a great super line if you want braid. Braid will be much more sensitive than copoly, mono, and floro plus it has zero stretch which results in better hookups. The down side is the abrasion resistance isnt very good and it is highly visible. For me, floro is the best of both worlds, less stretch than mono, very abrasion resistant, and virtually invisible underwater. Quote
Brandon Underwood Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I use the Berkeley TransOtic 15# on my quantum, it turns a bright orange in the daylight, but instantly goes clear when it hits the water, and casts great on my reel, and use Trilene XL 14# on my Black Maxx as it's the only thing it will cast well for me. From experience (not that I have all that much) don't buy the cheap-o stren fluoro from wal mart, It's absolute junk, it floats, and has a ton of line memory, doesn't sound like fluoro to me. But I'm sure more people with more experience than me will chime in and give you some advice. Quote
tmier Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I use trilene 20# on my revo and have for a while. I tried fireline for one day and almost thru my gear in the water after my second backlash. Maybe a better braid and more practice but I prefer a thicker mono, casts easy and minimal backlash. Quote
JacobK Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I have suffix 65lb braid on both of my casting set ups & use a fluoro leader when needed. If you aren't fond of thick diameter line then you might wanna give the 50lb a shot. Quote
NH Tracker175 Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 i picked up berkley trilene 100%flouro.anyone use this.my local shop suggestod it.any reviews? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 i picked up berkley trilene 100%flouro.anyone use this.my local shop suggestod it.any reviews? Its a solid floro. Make sure your knots are tied right though because knot strength is its only weakness. It has some memory, but Line and Lure can take care of most of that. It is very abrasion resistant and has very little stretch (at least compared to Invizx). Just make sure you pull on the tag end of your line when tieing your knot or else the knot will break. Quote
