buzzbait4me Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 My 7ft medium BPS Bionic Blade recently broke. I am looking to buy a new rod to replace it. I will use it for tubes, shakey heads, wacky rigs, and weightless senkos. What are your opinions on a rod for under $150? Thanks for the help Quote
robsbell Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Checkout the Powell Endurance series when Tackle Warehouse has their next sale. Very light and sensitive with plenty of backbone when needed. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I agree with the Powell Endurance! I have one spin and casting rods, great rods for the $$. Quote
Super User webertime Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 Check your Local Dick's out, they are having 25% of anything ending in .97. I found a 6'6" St. Croix Avid Medium for $120 at mine. Quote
MK-9 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Check your Local Dick's out, they are having 25% of anything ending in .97. I found a 6'6" St. Croix Avid Medium for $120 at mine. Gah. Figures. They're almost, but not quite finished building one about 2 miles from my place. I'd bet some decent money that deal will be done by the time they open. And unfortunately I don't have the time to head to the next nearest one. Quote
Super User deep Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 Powell. Without a shadow of doubt. JMHO, I found my Powell Max more "sensitive" than a comparable Dobyns Savvy. The Endurance can only be better. You'll love it. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 As others have said, Powell. Quote
robsbell Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 FYI - Tackle Warehouse 15% off sale through July 5. Powell Endurance for $144. You need to be on their mailing list or Facebook. Quote
tmier Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 The St. Croix avid is a nice rod, try calling Dick's over the phone. I also have an eyecon 7' ml I paid $110 for and just love the balance and casting accuracy. Quote
figure8racer Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I would also agree with JacobK. You can find some smoking deals on significantly higher end rods in the flea market. Everybody I've dealt with on here has been honest in regards to condition of everything I've bought/traded for. Quote
