VolFan Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I just ordered two from *** in Bluegill, 3/8 oz, tandem willow/colorado. Anyone have experience fishing these? Goodbad/indifferent? I got my normal Booyahs as well, but thought I'd try these lookers out. Quote
TruflShufl Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Mostly boo-yahs and terminators here. Never heard of revenge but after lookin at them on tackle warehouse I might give them a try. They're awfully proud of some of those baits. Quote
Mattlures Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I dont ever fish spinnerbaits. I dont like them. But if I did I would buy some revenge baits. I have held them and I have used revenge buzzbaits. They are made from the highest quality components and have arguably the nicests finishes. Dont know if that equals more fish because spinnerbaits dont work anyways but I do know they are high quality Quote
VolFan Posted June 20, 2009 Author Posted June 20, 2009 Funny thing, cause I got a few of their buzzbits too! 8-) 8-) Quote
Micropterus salmoides Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I've been using them for a couple years now. I really like the detail and quality. Ray, the guy who makes them, is insane with his craftsmanship. Last year he updated the wire to a tempered metal which is much more durable. I rarely have to tune the bait after catching bass. He also updated the head design so that the skirt flares out more. The main difference I've noticed in comparison to other spinnerbaits is that the blades put off a tremendous amount of vibration, especially the larger blades like on the 1/2 oz. There's quite a bit of difference in the resistance felt when stepping up from a 3/8 oz to a 1/2 oz. The 1/2 oz has more resistance than many mid-range crankbaits I've used. I still use the Terminator T1s in my arsenal since they have far less vibration and thump to them. Check out the Revenge Viberator in the Chatterbait section at TW. I plan on picking up some in the new bluegill color. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 21, 2009 Super User Posted June 21, 2009 war eagles. never heard of revenge unless your team is playing Florida. ;D Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 war eagles. never heard of revenge unless your team is playing Florida. ;D Hey, you don't want none of FL!!! ;D I use mostly Booyah and Strike King but have heard nothing but good things about those lures! Quote
VolFan Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 I mostly use the Booyah in 1/8 or 1/4 oz, golden shiner, as does my wife. It's her skunk-buster. I figured I'd try to branch out. As for the other...I like that Meyer and iffin are renewing the rivalry that Spurrier and , well, Spurrier and every Tennessee fan had. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Revenge spinnerbaits and buzzbaits just flat-out produce in clear water. The eyes have it!! the air brushed head coloration is exceptional. Love em, hookset P.S. Tackle Warehouse puts them on sale once in awhile. http://www.revengebaits.com/products/display/?id=131 Quote
Skinnyh2ofishin Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I just bought my first Revenge spinnerbait about a month ago. Appearance wise it's the first spinnerbait that I've liked since the Horizon brand ones I bought at Academy about 10 years ago and haven't been able to find since. The detail is awesome and like someone else said the amount of vibration it puts out is great. On the downside I've had a chance to fish with it once and after one fish the wire was literally completely straightened out, and the skirt keeper tore so I lost the skirt too. Not completely the fault of the bait though as that first fish was a blasted pickerel, and the wire did bend back to shape fairly easily, but looks a little week at the line tie now. We'll see how it holds up to the next few fish now that I have a new skirt on it. A point for revenge though, even with a blasted pickerel thrashing teeth all over my bait, the head paint seems unscathed! That's a plus for me. Overall, despite a shortened first outing, I'd definitely buy another. I'm a diehard spinnerbait fisherman and practically can't fish without atleast one rod rigged with a spinnerbait. The Revenge spinnerbaits really impress me as far as appearance and action in the water and as long as the wire holds up I'll be impressed with their durability too. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted June 22, 2009 Super User Posted June 22, 2009 They are definitely some of the best designed spinnerbaits I've thrown. Their jigs are fantastic also. Quote
