moloch16 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 This sight must be getting paid a fortune to market the Ragetail baits. Every forum is packed top to bottom with some reference to Ragetail. Give it a rest already Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 I get paid nothing (I did get a few freebies once upon a time, but everyone who attended the Road Trip can say that). They just plain catch fish. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 Give it a rest... Nope, give 'em a try. 8-) Quote
Super User flechero Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 Moloch, Have you tried shimano yet? : ;D ;D Quote
Uncle Leo Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 U use them, when am I getting paid? No wait a minute they catch fish, never mine I will buy my own. Quote
moloch16 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Moloch,Have you tried shimano yet? : Heheh you're awesome. Yes I've bought some Ragetails and they are excellent baits. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 Big O knows how to design, market and sell quality baits. Thats about all it is to it. All the positive posts you see about the Rage Tail baits is proof that his baits are excellent producers. Keep it up Big O! Quote
Steven Ladner Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 That's going to be hard to do, especially with as much as the bass like them. With the way they perform, the rage tail talk may never die down. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 Do they always work or are they magic? Of course not. But they are different and thats the name of the game in bass fishing more often than not. There are no other baits on the market that duplicate them.Almost all other baits are a knockoff of something else to a degree and the Rage baits are pretty original. Dead shad are what I find irritating : Quote
Dixon Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 You could say the same about JJ magic. It gets talked about a lot more then megastrike. Anyone can see that. I love rage baits. They are awesome and catch alot of fish. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I thought a bit about this and would like to add something. I had the pleasure of meeting Big O and speaking with him about fishing in general at the BR Roadtrip. Although it was brief the one thing that made me interested in trying these baits as I had not before was his passion. Big O truely beleives in his baits and more importantly he wants you to catch fish nad I beleive he fines true joy in hearing how you caught fish on Rage Tail Baits. Sure there is a lot of hype with these baits but only because the Strike King Pros using them are in the money. Quote
Mattlures Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 moloch16 I totaly understand. At times it can seem overdone. But the truth is they are realy good baits and guys are catching fish on them soo they are reporting it. Cant blame Big-o and his baits for getting people a little pumped up. I use them and they work for me too. Quote
Super User CWB Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 Give it a rest... Nope, give 'em a try. 8-) X2 If you don't care for them it's definitely your loss. If you do not like reading about them, move to another topic. They catch fish and that's what this forum is about. Helping each other become better fisherman. If people lied and said they didn't catch fish would you feel better? 8-) Quote
Super User CWB Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 I use them, when and I getting paid? No wait a minute they catch fish, never mine I will buy my own. Yo Leo- USE SPELLCHECK. ;D ;D And don't forget to watch the Cubbies smoke the Sox this week. Wait, wrong spot for that. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Give credit where its due. BIG O designed. some beautiful and functional baits. I always say some threads are like Howard Stern's Radio Show.-if you dont like it -change the station. There is another thread right below that one you can go to. Quote
rondef Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 These baits put bass in the livewell, I have caught bass on all of the different Rage Tail baits. Big O designed some awesome baits and I am looking forward to his new designs after I Cast. Do I get paid to promote the baits? Absolutely not!!! I like these baits so much that I bought 160 packs from Boaters World when they were going out of business last month. Quote
moloch16 Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 I've bought several packs and indeed they look awesome and I like hearing people report how good they are at catching fish. I haven't caught any on them yet but that's because I haven't fished much this year. When I have fished I've had a Ragetail tied on pretty much every time - just not getting much time on the water. To me the amount of hype seems - pardon the pun - fishy. I see trip reports with "secret" Ragetail baits blacked out. Guess it's just me reading too much into the hype. I could see a big bait company paying people to post on forums to increase hype over a bait. Carry on folks, make sure you have your Sex Shad Shimano reels oiled and greased properly Quote

You should see the size of the ******** on the Space Monkey! It's a family forum, some things have to be blacked out. Quote

I don't think he has a product out there that hasn't been produced before. His tail design on the anaconda is a little different but I think that Net Bait was around before and his baits are pretty similar. Rage Tails are good product don't get me wrong but I think they are a little over hyped. Quote

So baits like the craw and lizard and worm don't put off a completely different sound or vibration wave coming through the water then?? The annaconda feels the same to a bass as say a Culprit P.O.S.? Sorry had to debate Overhyped? Yes, I do agree to an extent but when something works and works well it is kind of hard to call it "hype". Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted June 17, 2009 Super User Posted June 17, 2009 Big O truly believes in his baits and more importantly he wants you to catch fish and I believe he fines true joy in hearing how you caught fish on Rage Tail Baits. X2, the man is as genuine as they come. Until just recently I was out there hadding at it alot with these baits and not doing real well. I know it's not the RT's, it's my technique, and the RT posts are what keep me striving to learn them as well as other soft plastics. Later this summer when I will have more time I plan on hittin' them hard again. In the mean time all these RT stories are what I have to learn from. Keep 'em coming! Quote
Big-O Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Truthfully, I have to agree that there have been quite a few posts and topics on Rage Tail baits recently and I appreciate everyones enthusiasm about my products. And no, I haven't paid anyone to use Rage Tails but yes I did give baits to those on the Roadtrip this year and that is probably where much of this enthusiasm is coming from, as they are hopefully having success with them. Also Strike King didn't pay me to make that trip and nor did I ask them to, I went because I was invited to go by some of the folks here at BR and I wanted to go fishing and have fun like everyone else. While I was there, I was able to meet many of the people who were using my baits as well as others who never had. Being able to discuss the details and assist with questions and ideas that some had was very important to me because like someone mentioned previously, I want everyone to be successful with my products and I give my very best effort with hopes that this will be the case. I also hope that the detail in design, action and packaging to insure the best quality possible when the bait gets in your hands is obvious, as this is exactly what I feel is lacking in the industry. Everyones time on the water is extremely valuable and each has the right to expect their soft plastics to perform at their highest level consistantly. After all you paid your hard earned dollars with hopes that they would be something special and help you catch fish more consistantly. I share that hope with you and take this responsibility seriously to help give you that opportunity. And Moloch16, I would like for you to be successful with them as well and not necessarily so that you can start a post and hype Rage Tail, but moreover so that when someone here or elsewhere has a question about one or more of the designs, use etc., you like many of the others here have done previously, can help with information about them. Some may call it hype, but I call it appreciation and caring. Not enough of this in this world, but plenty of it here at Bass Resources. After all, I'm not always around.....like today I drove for 14 hours and at this moment, I'm in a motel room and getting up at 4:30 am to see how effective some new salt water designs I have just completed work at daylight....Now does that mean I might have to fish them tomorrow....I hope so, if the wind let's me Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

There was hardly a moment he wasn't surrounded by fellow anglers. This wasn't because he paid anybody or was handing baits out from time to time. It was because he was a great fellow angler who had a ton of stories that made you laugh your *** off. You could ask the guy anything and he was straight up with you and you could just see his passion for fishing. There was even a time when Procrafter and myself didn't have a ride and Big-O got on the phone and started trying to get us one. We were able to get it worked out with LongMke in the end, but it goes to show you what a class act he is. What does this have to do with his baits" EVREYTHING! This guy worked his tail off until he got it right! The Rage craw and Space Monkey have been killer baits for me this year. I pay the 6$ a pack because no bait on the market has got the action down like those baits have. Quote
