Super User Sam Posted June 28, 2011 Super User Posted June 28, 2011 I was wondering the same thing last month and meant to send him a PM to make sure he is OK. Anyone heard from him or know about him and what he is doing? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 29, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 29, 2011 He's not even listed on the "Members pages any more. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 Is Santa a covert agent for the government? Only for the blessed few that actually get a tax return these days. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 30, 2011 Super User Posted June 30, 2011 Is Santa a covert agent for the government? Well he has a napsack, and a stealthy covert tip-toe action going on, so he could be. Quote
dave Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Burley would be so touched at the out pouring of feelings. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 1, 2011 Super User Posted July 1, 2011 Tell Burley to kiss and make up as his fan club misses him and his posts. We are now chanting "Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley, Burley." "We want Burley. We want Burley. We want Burley." Now it is time for the Bourbon Street Cheerleaders to arrive and help our cause. So everyone head to the French Quarter to chant for Burley's return. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted July 1, 2011 Super User Posted July 1, 2011 im curious to know how a poster gets their feelings hurt on a fishing forum to the point they had to leave. were not talking about each others mommas/wives. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted July 2, 2011 Super User Posted July 2, 2011 im curious to know how a poster gets their feelings hurt on a fishing forum to the point they had to leave. were not talking about each others mommas/wives. Well, that doesn't describe Burley. He can take it and he can dish it. Life can be hectic sometimes and, unfortunately, a message board doesn't always fit into the schedule. I, myself, have not been on the boards much recently due to network installations, network upgrades, and some issues with family members. I miss the boards but other things are more important. I suspect it is the same for Burley. Quote

I don't think you become a "floater" because your feelings were hurt...PM if you want clarification. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 3, 2011 Super User Posted July 3, 2011 Membership in social networks, forums and chat rooms have a revolving door, people come and go or choose not to participate for awhile. im curious to know how a poster gets their feelings hurt on a fishing forum to the point they had to leave. were not talking about each others mommas/wives. Whether it's a fishing forum or some other venue I have seen some that have gotten quite emotional and passionate about certain issues. Quote
Incheon Basser Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I think everyone goes through fazes don't they? I know in the two years I have been posting here there are big gaps in my attendance. I think it really has to do with content. I come and view the forums but don't see anything I feel like posting on. I think a lot of folks are like that. I would be willing to say that 60% of the active posters from when I first joined are no longer as active as they were back in 09. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted July 3, 2011 Super User Posted July 3, 2011 If he is having the same screwed up access to this site's forums as I am. He may have not figured it out. I can't get to it thru the AOL server. I have to use IE. It is the only site I visit that requires that path. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted July 3, 2011 Super User Posted July 3, 2011 I just tried, and got on via AOL. I rarely use AOL. They are nasty about their popups, trying to make themselves your home page, etc. I use it basically for email, and a very few other things. It's constantly "experiencing a problem" and restarting itself. IE isn't without it's problems, but it isn't constantly imposing itself on you. Quote

Check the web address for typing errors or check your internet connection to ensure other web addresses are accessible. Did you mean: bassresource " I was getting that message a few days ago. But, I was also having problems using IE. It (IE) could find the page, well sort of. The page that opened said the forum was offline, while another message on the same page said the changes were complete and the forum was up and running, to try refreshing the page and if that didn't work, to try again later. The IE issue was resolved before the AOL was, on my computer anyway. Others were having no problems. I don't understand enough about servers, hubs, and whatever else when it comes to these gizmos. The only thing I barely grasped was that it took a while for the changes in this forum, or its address to circulate through all the servers, or whatever. Sometimes it would work other times it wouldn't. The last time I said it was working fine, three or four days ago, the problem resurfaced. A day later it was OK. It has been stable since. Quote
