JellyMan Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Who else here thinks that the watermelon seed brush hog is the best bait ever!!!?? I am currently using the "big" one and it has been producing pounds and high numbers. weightless, find cover, let er drop for a sec, and reel it in slow back to the boat. NEVER FAILS!!! Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 It's not the best bait EVER but it is a bad mutha f*****. I always end up with one my line somehow. they are a steady producer. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted June 20, 2009 Super User Posted June 20, 2009 i like green pumpkin w/red flake. rigged on: this Quote
basswitch Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 I just got more baby brush hogs in the mail today from the discount fishing site I use. I thought I ordered green pumpkin, and got pumpkin instead. Anyone have experience with this color? Quote

uicdent11 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Try *** version of the Brush Hog. You will save a ton over the course of the season. Quote
bass slayer21 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 i agree its one of my go to baits lately, i usually t-rig it with a 3/16 weight though. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 20, 2009 Super User Posted June 20, 2009 I'd rather use the Who Daddy than those sissy brush hogs. Quote
zbigbadaaron Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Do you use these weightless brush hogs on spinning gear or on baitcasting gear? : Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I use them as a flippin' bait in Hydrilla mats and they work great! For flippin' i use the smaller 4" size though. Black with a blue tail is hard to beat on my waters! Quote
NealinMO Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I had never used one until one of our local tourney's when my fishing partner had about 12 pounds in the boat in less than 2 hrs with only 2 fish.. I tried them and we ended up with limit at just over 24 lbs.. Ever since I won't head to the lake without them.. Gotta love em when they perform like that!! Quote
skillet Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Possibly favorite bait to T-rig. Green pumpkin has caught a lot of fish for me (including PB 7/15) ... skillet Quote
Super User Tin Posted June 21, 2009 Super User Posted June 21, 2009 I love them in watermelon red and pumpkinseed. But then I found Netbait's version... :-X Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1245259698 Obviously I agree... Quote
driftingrz Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 i went out and bought a pack of them today after seeing your post to try em out. didnt have a chance till dark in a creek. but i caught a <1lb dink on one after a horrible cast i was trying to get the lure back out of the water fast as possible, less than a foot off the land little fish took it. hopefully try it at a real pond or lake tomorrow. the action looks promising Quote
