GTrombly Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I played high school and had a full ride and played 2 years in college. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted June 27, 2011 Super User Posted June 27, 2011 I played........was never any good, but had fun. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted June 27, 2011 Super User Posted June 27, 2011 Played my freshman year, found that it conflicted with High School Rodeo, so didn't play after that. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 27, 2011 Global Moderator Posted June 27, 2011 I played, running back, OLB, tightend, free safety, wedgebuster on kickoffs. Anything where I got to hit somebody I was in! Once I could drive it took away too much fishing time though and seeing my old man hobbling around because of the damage he did to his body playing football and other sports all through highschool was reason enough for me to stop. I was pretty good but I wasn't going pro so I didn't see any reason to kill myself doing it. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 27, 2011 Super User Posted June 27, 2011 Forty seven year's ago I played two years in highschool before I figured out it wasn't for me. Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted June 29, 2011 Super User Posted June 29, 2011 Played all four years. Started Junior and Senior years. Got Defensive Lineman of the year my junior year, as well as helping my team win the Alabama 5A state championship that year. We finished second in state my senior year. Then I turned down a full ride to a small school, and thusly ended my playing. I still miss playing, but hey it was awesome while it lasted. Quote

Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted June 29, 2011 Super User Posted June 29, 2011 Why would you turn down a full ride scholarship ? The day that the coach called I had just gotten back from a weekend partying at another school. I had a absolute blast. With football, wrestleing, and track I was pretty much busy year round. I had never had a chance to just be a regular student and just go wild. Turning that scholarship down was the hardest thing I have ever done. I regreted it tremendously after two weeks of being a "regular" student. But hey I wouldnt have met my wife and had my adoreable three year old son if I had taken it. So I feel it worked out for the best. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 29, 2011 Super User Posted June 29, 2011 Started OLB freshman and sophmore year. 43 Sacks total(Over both years, I was a sack machine, but really couldn't play coverage). Not gonna play it next year though. Not for me. Lacrosse is more fun for me. Quote

"On that day, and at the end of your life, and you look in the mirror, and YOU KNOW, you know,I gave all i had, and i gave it for a worthy cause." But still im going to cry lol Quote
JoePhish Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I played Defensive End and Gunner on kickoffs my sophomore and junior years. I was somewhat of a big play specialist in retrospect. Decided to not play my senior year so I could stay healthy and focus on wrestling. I would sit in class in pain from hip pointers, cracked wrists and bruised up knees. I couldn't concentrate on the class lessons in a school where academics came first. My coach was so ticked at me. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 1, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 1, 2011 I played safety in jr league until the other guys started getting taller than me. LOL!! Quote
