Super User clayton86 Posted June 26, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 26, 2011 Its been 3 hours without a nibble not even on worms idk why I left the bass gear home I could be working some noisy bass lures Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 26, 2011 Global Moderator Posted June 26, 2011 Man I wouldn't sit in one spot catfishing more than an hour unless I had no other option. It's just like bass fishing really, hit a spot and if you don't find any active fish fairly quickly then move on. Usually takes less than 10 minutes for them to find your bait if they're moving. Other. Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Mann fishing with live bait is a different taste then because I enjoy it. Especially saltwater. Nothing beats casting out a rig in the ocean and spiking your rod into the ground sitting in a chair focusing on the smell of the air, sound of the waves, and the sand on your feet and nothing BUT that. It's a world with out any problems! Oh and it's fun to catch big fish too Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 26, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 26, 2011 We gave each spot bout hour and a half I only had 1 hit in the last spot but missed it. Were gonna try later in the week with some large shinners there were tons of fish busting minnows on the banks. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted June 26, 2011 Super User Posted June 26, 2011 Try fishing Senkos. Even more boring. ding ding ding we have a winner. Like watching a loaf of bread go stale. 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 26, 2011 Super User Posted June 26, 2011 There is a time and a place for me to use bait, live or cut, and that's drift fishing out in the ocean, it produces quality fish. Seldom do I use bait for freshwater or inshore fishing, it's just to easy. I have casted until my arms were ready to fall off with little or no luck, then on quirk I'll catch some bait, hook up and the action starts. Within minutes I've got larger snook, tarpon or barracuda on the line and have done the same thing with shiners for bass. It isn't my style but it works, same goes for a senko, just not as much of a challenge. Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 27, 2011 I usually never fish with live bait I had to make a special trip for hooks and sinkers for live bait I didn't even have anything to use. We went today with worms and gulp but that was with my son for his first fishing trip centered around him ill most bout that later when I resize the pics. Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 i love fishing with live bait, its very relaxing to me. sit back and listen to some tunes, drink a few beers, and just chill. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 30, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 30, 2011 I used to fish that way when a kid and my teen years now I can't stand it but that's how my wife likes to fish so iv been doing it more and more I found a nice little spot with non stop bluegill action. My wife thinks I have add because I hate fishing with live bait and I'm always moving and looking around even when driving. She hate it well be going down the road having a convo and ill stop mid sentance and be like "look a buck" or doe or groundhog what ever or " look at that guys pond its huge I want a pond like that" she hates it she's always talking bout the babys or work and I change subject quick bout some wild animal or pond.
