Hey guys, I hope you can help me here. I can't get the turn key access plate to come off. The key is stuck in the closed position and won't budge without a serious amount of pressure with pliers and I've already scratched it which bothers me a lot.

What can I do to fix this problem. All of my other Citicas and Curados turn very easily. In fact, this one did too but now won't as I said. Please help!

Thanks!

make sure that the line isn't stuck between the spool and the access plate, also make sure that the spool is completely seated in the pinion bearing. That's all I can think of for now, otherwise I would look at talking to Shimano over the phone, they have some great customer service.

try to loosen up your cast control cap. It puts pressure to the access plate when turned tight, making it difficult to turn.

Thanks. I did try that but nothing seems to work. It's tight and just won't budge. I'm pretty frustrated at this point. I suppose I'll give Shimano a call tomorrow.
