Guys,

When the water is hot and the bite is slow, finesse is always a good choice. But even when the other finesse techniques don't work how about the pre-rigged 3 hook worm. I've use this worm for over 20 years and when things are really slow it very rarely lets me down. A couple of small split shot rigged about 12 inches ahead of the worm is all you need. The model I have used over and over again is Kellys Plow Jockey brand in purple. There is something about that corkscrew action that absolutely drives the bass crazy. When you are in a tournament and just need a couple of 2 pounders to finish a limit, this is what I go to.

I agree ! Went one day out on Messalonskee Lake in Maine needing more poundage, put on a Creme worm pre-made with hooks and weed guards and pulled in several over 2 lb. :D

Same here. A friend of mine showed me how to rig my own. Our favorite worm to use was the Fliptail 6". Used three #6 Eagle Claw hooks all tied with a snell and threaded through the worm from tail to head using a large needle. We caught tons of largemouth on those.

They work, but they also gill hook many, many fish. It's one of the worst lures I've ever used in terms of gill hooking fish.

I've been useing a Jeke's Do Nothing Worn for the last 40 years. When I taught my 2 son's to fish that was the first artifical I tied on their lines. The same with my 5 year old grandson. We probably don't use them enough. The only time I use them now is when I take my wife, that is the only bait she wants to see on the end of her line. They will catch fish anytime, anywhere!!!

How do you guys fish it, I'm looking to get my girl started on bass fishing. I thought going with a Senko might work but if this is a productive method I'm interested.

All you need to do is put one or two split shot ahead of the worm about 12 inches to get it down and then just reel it in slowly. You want to stay just outside the weeds and they will hammer it.

That's the first lure I ever caught a real lunker on and ill never forget it! I bought it from a local sporting good store and it was purple with a white dot on it's back. I was 11 years old and it was so big I could pretty much stick my whole head in its mouth. A couple other guys who were fishing saw me catch it and instantly came running over, they were excited but at the same time seemed kinda upset with me because some little kid caught a monster fish right in front of them and they deserved it more then me. :P
