I fished in a tournament last weekend with a new 7'3" M/H Vendetta and after about 5 hours my shoulder was really getting tired. I hadn't ever fished with this rod for that length of time before and didn't notice that it was heavier then my other ones. Do any of you, who own one of these, find it heavy too? If I want to replace it with something lighter, what would you recommend?

Price range?

Good question. my mistake.

The Vendetta was around $90 and I realize I'll have to go higher to get a better rod, but I don't think I want to spend over $150 on the replacement.

I see a Kistler Argon AFJ75C on my local Craigslist for $100. Would that be a good choice?

I had read a lot of good reviews on the Vendetta but I when I handed it I thought it weighed a ton (relatively speaking). I handled the Veritas today at Dick's and was pretty impressed. If I can catch a good sale on one I may have to add it to my collection soon.

Why don't you return the rod to the merchant and exchange it for a Veritas? It's about the same price range and unless it's beat to Hell, most dealers would make the swap.

What reel do you have on the Vendetta?

Is it the weight or the balance getting to you is the reason for asking.

I have a Curado 201E on it now. I don't think it's a balance issue. I got the Vendetta at Cabelas. I will give them a call and see if they will exchange if for the Veritas.

I flip/pitch with a 7'6" MH/F Vendetta (1/2oz-3oz, don't think its made anymore). Having used it all day the last few times I've been out, I never started to feel tired or that it was heavy. Could just be me I guess.

I suggest picking yourself up a Falcon Bucoo, SHIMANO compre, Gander Mountain GSX Titanium, or the higher up BPS rods.

For $150 you have many options...Dobyns Savvy, Powell Max, Shimano Crucial, Falcon Lowrider, Castaway Skeleton...ect.

I vote Dobyns! B)

I don't own one but have done a lot of comparisons in store. IMO the vendetta has a better grip but heavier than the Veritas. Two rods I own in the same range are the Veritas and Carbonlite. Both are great, balanced rods. I prefer the Carbonlite due to the grip.

If you want to spend a little more the Dobyns Savvy line is great. Just like the champions and DX, balances extremely well. I don't own one but have heard good things about Powell also.

Wow, you think that's a heavy rod?? I have the same rod with the 2010 revo SX and think it's a dream to throw. I also have a veritas 7'6" and with a revo stx and am not sure it is any lighter. As someone said above, maybe it's just me.
