SmokeRise1 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I fished in a tournament last weekend with a new 7'3" M/H Vendetta and after about 5 hours my shoulder was really getting tired. I hadn't ever fished with this rod for that length of time before and didn't notice that it was heavier then my other ones. Do any of you, who own one of these, find it heavy too? If I want to replace it with something lighter, what would you recommend? Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted June 24, 2011 Author Posted June 24, 2011 Price range? Good question. my mistake. The Vendetta was around $90 and I realize I'll have to go higher to get a better rod, but I don't think I want to spend over $150 on the replacement. I see a Kistler Argon AFJ75C on my local Craigslist for $100. Would that be a good choice? Quote
Pantera61 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Just move up to the Veritas ... under $100.00, light, powerful, yah ... Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 24, 2011 Super User Posted June 24, 2011 Id move up to the veritas as well I have a 76MHF with a revo stx light as a feather I throw it all day with no problem Quote
Teal101 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Grab a Veritas. My 7' MH is super super light. Love it. Quote
7mm-08 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I had read a lot of good reviews on the Vendetta but I when I handed it I thought it weighed a ton (relatively speaking). I handled the Veritas today at Dick's and was pretty impressed. If I can catch a good sale on one I may have to add it to my collection soon. Quote
David301 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Bass Pro Shops Carbon Light 7'6" MH/Fast CL76MHTF10 $99.97 or Bass Pro Shops Carbon Light 7' MH/Fast CL70MHTF10 $79.97 Quote

It's about the same price range and unless it's beat to Hell, most dealers would make the swap. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 What reel do you have on the Vendetta? Is it the weight or the balance getting to you is the reason for asking. Quote

I have a Curado 201E on it now. I don't think it's a balance issue. I got the Vendetta at Cabelas. I will give them a call and see if they will exchange if for the Veritas. Quote
ChrisAW Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 I flip/pitch with a 7'6" MH/F Vendetta (1/2oz-3oz, don't think its made anymore). Having used it all day the last few times I've been out, I never started to feel tired or that it was heavy. Could just be me I guess. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 25, 2011 Super User Posted June 25, 2011 I suggest picking yourself up a Falcon Bucoo, SHIMANO compre, Gander Mountain GSX Titanium, or the higher up BPS rods. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 For $150 you have many options...Dobyns Savvy, Powell Max, Shimano Crucial, Falcon Lowrider, Castaway Skeleton...ect. I vote Dobyns! Quote
breezy Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I don't own one but have done a lot of comparisons in store. IMO the vendetta has a better grip but heavier than the Veritas. Two rods I own in the same range are the Veritas and Carbonlite. Both are great, balanced rods. I prefer the Carbonlite due to the grip. If you want to spend a little more the Dobyns Savvy line is great. Just like the champions and DX, balances extremely well. I don't own one but have heard good things about Powell also. Quote
quanjig Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Wow, you think that's a heavy rod?? I have the same rod with the 2010 revo SX and think it's a dream to throw. I also have a veritas 7'6" and with a revo stx and am not sure it is any lighter. As someone said above, maybe it's just me. Quote
