Super User eyedabassman Posted June 24, 2011 Super User Posted June 24, 2011 I did get the Hiber-net for fathers day. Do you guys have any input on this net? It does seem hard to get the net all the way open? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 25, 2011 Global Moderator Posted June 25, 2011 I don't know about the hibernet but I do have a Frabill net that folds in half and you'd think that thing was a Rubiks cube when someone is trying to open it that never has before when a big fish is one the line. It's nice because it takes up very little room but it's so hard to figure out I guess that I end up hand landing a lot of my big fish instead. I guess I should start showing my friends how to open it before we go fishing. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted June 28, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 28, 2011 Am I the only one that has this net? I just wanted some feed back. Or maybe you guys are trying to spare my feelings that it is a crap net? LOL Quote
bigbassctchr101 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 My buddy has one. Its a nice net. Work it in a little bit and it will be a little easier to open. If you have problems with it opening difficultly, just open it up and leave it open like any other net. The more use it sees the looser and worn in it should get. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 28, 2011 Super User Posted June 28, 2011 I've got one. I think that when I'm fishing by myself, that it is useless because it is really hard to deploy using one hand. When I'm fishing in my boat with a buddy, I think it is great because it is a full sized net and it stores very compactly. I think that there is a learning curve to using this net. The flexible front part of the net takes some getting used to. Overall, I think it is a great net, unless I'm fishing by myself, then I think it is useless. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 28, 2011 Super User Posted June 28, 2011 I have one the earlier ones that is a little shorter. It is basically worthless if left in the stow position and you need it while fishing by yourself. To get it to lock open, you have to push the slide handle very firmly. The rubber hoop will collapse and cause you to miss a fish (especially a large one). It is a pretty good pan fish net though. Quote
