Brian4618 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 The river I fish in has alot of logs and twigs that break the surface of the water. I have had some luck with senkos around this structure but I wanted to know if there could be any other lures that may produce better than senkos. I was thinkin a jig might be a good lure to use. What do you guys think? Quote
soccplayer07 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 tons of options... jigs Texas rig craws, beavers, worms, brush hogs, etc... weightless kreatures, ikas, flukes shaky head w/ any of the above that should get you started. good luck. Quote
adclem Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Any type of jig or soft plastic should produce for you. I have had pretty good luck using a jig with a single tail grub swimming it around structure. Also pretty good luck with a Fat Ika. Later, Quote
RandySBreth Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Spinnerbaits burned by the cover will sometimes bring them out. Otherwise, yeah, usually jigs or some soft plastic pitched in there is the ticket. Quote
moloch16 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Lucky Craft RC 1.5 crankbait. Absolutely deadly when banged and bounced of the wood. Quote

Steven Ladner Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 LC RC 1.5 x2. this is my favorite crankbait. x3, if not, pitch a jig or plastic to the structure Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted June 19, 2009 Super User Posted June 19, 2009 I am all about throwing a spinnerbait into tree tops, especially ones like you described with just the tips sticking up out of the water. Bang the paint off that spinnerbait and hold on. Jigs would also be heavily fished in that situation. Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 lets see, for wood cover there's jigs, and then there's jigs, jigs, and jigs. Oh yeah, don't forget to try a jig. And if that doesn't work, might want to give a jig a shot. Quote
The Outdoorsman Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 tube jig fluke (i prefer 7" version) square billed crank spinnerbait chatterbait Berkley beast or RI Sweet Beaver SPRO frog Quote
