ChiCityBasser Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Ok I jumped on the RT bandwagon after hearing all the raves here about them and I've had some success with the Chunks as trailers. I have the Craws as well with no success yet and no hits yet on the shad and some misses on the toads and thats completely my fault. I will be picking up the Space Monkey this evening in the Black/Blue Flake and Water-melon/Black from Cabelas. I noticed they didn't have all the colors listed on the site and hoping in store they may have some of the other colors. I'll be giving them a try over the weekend and see if I can match my PB at one of the small lakes I fish at on a regular basis. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 40 minutes with the space monkey, didn't get a single bite. switched to senkos, in 20 minutes got 3 nice bass, 2 on the first 2 casts. had the sm t-rigged, in an area where senkos will get them consistently. any tips or ideas as to what I could be doing wrong? I'll take a swing at it. I will assume that you were fishing the Senko weightless or wacky. The fish might have preferred that slow fall and shake opposed to the dart down of the t-rigged SM. That might have been it. If that is the case rig the the SM on a 1/8oz or lighter keel weighted EWG hook, or weightless and cast it out to the same spots and let it sink on a slack line. Quote

D4u2s0t Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 thanks guys. i'll be on the lake all day today, so i'll give it a shot weightless. have to say the action on these things is great! Quote
Big-O Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 thanks guys. i'll be on the lake all day today, so i'll give it a shot weightless. have to say the action on these things is great! 1/8 or 3/16 oz Keel weighted hook (swimbait hook) is sometime necessary to provide the correct fall rate and will also help on your cast. Be safe and have fun.... Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

Some days/locations a stick worm is going to produce better and some days a different profile will be preferred. The space monkey is a great bait, but it isn't 100% guaranteed to catch fish. Quote
shootermcbob Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I have had some success with space monkey, lizard, and caught a few last year and this on the rt craw, both t-rigged and as a jig trailer. Caught several fish last year swimming the rage craw. The only rt bait I haven't caught any fish on is the toad... I keep hearing price as an issue... I wait till they go on sale and load up. Not too long ago cabelas had the rage line for 25 or 30 % off( i think they were 4.20 a pack), I bought 15 different packs. I am an opportunistic shopper. I almost never pay full price for my fishing items. I wait for the sale or sales and then load up. Quote

I was travelling for business when Sportsman's Warehouse went under and picked up probably a dozen packs of various RT baits for right around $3 a pack. Would've bought more but I got the last ones. Also got some netbait stuff, megastrike and hooks 40% percent off. If I have to pay retail I try and get it from TW. They're $5 a pack. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 again, tried an nothing. on that same note, I have tried a bunch of different lizards, creature baits, etc, and the bass in my lake don't seem to want to go for anything other than spinnerbaits or worms. i'm going to keep trying though. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Man, ALL OTHER PLASTICS OBSOLETE????? That is a huge statement. I pesonally can not agree. I have used them and they really did'nt produce any more than my other plastics. As a matter of fact I used some of the rage lizards yesterday, and they got outfished by big bite baits kreit tail lizard. As for the space monkey thing, I can't say. I use the Wave Tiki monkey And Tiki Gorilla. Also the Tiki lobster. They all produce. What makes the ragetail line so special? But yes they are packaged extremely nice. I agree completely! I too tried them because all of the hype on here! The toads produce no better than my Ribbits, the anaconda produces no better than my PowerBait worms and the Space monkey/craw is no better than my PowerBait Chiggers! Just my opinion from using these baits on my lakes! Quote
SRivers Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 are they guaranteed to catch fish? no .. neither is any other bait. do they have great action? absolutely, so do some other baits. is the packaging top notch to guarantee they arrive how they are suppose to? yes, I havnt seen many other's like this. it's a great bait, you just have to learn how to fish them. same rule applies to all other baits as well. you gotta know how to fish before you can catch fish! it's all personal preference when it comes to plastics. I keep a few packs of these baits in my bag at all times, but sometimes it's not what the fish are looking for. there's no doubt about it though, they look alive in the water. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Ok, I need some help here. Me and my buddy caught about 25-30 fish today. We tried senkos, spinnerbaits, jigs, yamo kreature, and a few other things. Every single thing we threw in the water caught fish, except the space monkey. A few sunny nipped at the tails a little, other than that, not even a bite. I have now tried weightless, t-rigged, crawl it off the bottom, swim it off the top (and everything in between) basically everything I could think of. Not a bite. I've tried different techniques in 6 different lakes. What gives? Quote
TruflShufl Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I love the rage chunks and the rage craws. They've eliminated all my other trailers and craw baits. 8-) I've tried the shad to no avail. I need to give it more of a chance. The 10" anaconda is a beast. Caught a great 3-3.5 lber the other day on it. The toads seem alright, I don't really fish toad baits but I have friends who really like them. Same with the space monkey, I've fished it a little and haven't had much luck but seen alot of other guys get bit like crazy on them. They're just more tools to add to the arsenal 8-) Quote
