So, I'm going to be honest. I never bought to much into the hype on this forum that surrounded rage tail plastics. I mean, I figured they probably work as well as any other plastic, but I thought the continuous buzz about rage tail on the forum was mostly due to the fact that Rage Tail is a site sponsor. Well anyway, I was in BPS a few days ago and I saw the space monkeys sitting on the shelf and I decided to buy a pack of green pumpkin to try out. I finally got to try them out yesterday and I tell you what, Big O, you had me as soon as I opened the package! By far the most professionally packaged plastics I have ever seen. And as far as the baits go, they were outstanding. I don't know what it is about the action but it's killer and the fish absolutely love it. I will definitely be buying a lot more rage tail plastics in the future. Thanks for a great product.

I  REALLY think ragetails will make other softplastics obsolete they are 98% usable in any situation .And the quality of bass is incredible.I wont ever give up my manns augertails but no other softplastic can compare to a rage tail.and this coming from a guy who said this about augertails  25 yrs ago.If anyone aint using a ragetail your truly missing out on a ICONIC bait

The jury's still out with me.  Tried the craw and the space monkey with no success this weekend while I had success with tubes, senkos, and spider grubs.  I will continue with my *research* however...

Man, ALL OTHER PLASTICS OBSOLETE????? That is a huge statement. I pesonally can not agree. I have used them and they really did'nt produce any more than my other plastics. As a matter of fact I used some of the rage lizards yesterday, and they got outfished by big bite baits kreit tail lizard.As for the space monkey thing, I can't say. I use the Wave Tiki monkey And Tiki Gorilla. Also the Tiki lobster. They all produce.What makes the ragetail line so special?But yes they are packaged extremely nice.

I've had mixed results on the stuff that I've tried.  I like the looks of the baits, but not the prices.  

I haven't caught *anything* on the Rage Craw in the same places Power Craws are working.  

I did ok on the lizard, but noticed no different results compared to  zoom lizards so far.

The Rage Shad is good (and fun to watch) but I prefer a buzzbait - better hooksets.

The Rage Frog is Excellent, but I can get similar/same results on cheaper baits.

Haven't tried the Space Monkey yet.

Bought, but haven't tried the Anaconda yet - But I am really looking forward to this one.

The Strike King line of plastics that excites me is the KVD line.  They are a little cheaper than rage tail baits, and so far the lures are nothing innovative, but are solid fish catchers.

I will have to agree,Im on the fence with some of these baits. Ive caught a fish on a 10 inch Annie(the fish was only 8 or 9 inches long if that annie was truely 10 inches long) and 1 fish on a 7 inch Annie(got lots of bites on the 7 inch) but the craw and spacemonkey ,at present im looking at a big ol goose egg. Im gonna keep at it though,and hopefully my luck will change

I hooked a friend of mine from Massachusetts up with some Space Monkeys last Friday when we went out fishing and between the two of us we caught close to 40 bass in three hours. Needless to say my friend is now a huge fan of Rage Tail baits and his favorite bait is now the Space Monkey. This is a guy that did not care for any soft plastic baits before we fished together.

Phil said they were flipping and casting Texas rigged Rage Tail Space Monkey's and were able to top the big field of competitors with over 28 lbs setting the new 5 fish heavyweight record on that lake by more than 4 lbs. Phil also said that he and Richard had set the record 5 years previously and all it took to beat that was this Crazy Leg little Monkey bait.

New Heavyweight Record, a $20,000 payout and a Brand New Bass Boat thrown in the mix.. Not too Bad for Monkyin' Around

Now that's a good story. But how many people have won tournaments and have done similar things all over the country with baits other than rage tail?

The Space Monkey is my most consistent producer of quality bass that I've used this year.  It has accounted for my biggest of the year (a little over 5lbs) and the most of any single lure I've used.  I've found it to be an extremely versatile lure.  You can fish it fast, slow, on the surface, down deep, and anywhere in between, in weeds or open water.  An excellent bait.

The other bait that has done well for me this year is the 7" Anaconda.  I've fished this bait next to the Swim Senko.  I've had a rod rigged with a red shad colored swim senko and another rod rigged with a red shad colored anaconda.  The anaconda caught more fish.  In fact, I made followup casts into spots where I sent the senko with no result and caught fish on the anaconda.

I'm looking forward to fishing the Space Monkey.  The Rage Shad has been a producer for me.  I like it in super grassy areas because it's essentially a weedless buzz bait with a soft plastic appeal.  And it catches fish.  Period.

The $5.99 a pack is turning me off.I don't think i can continue to afford these.

And the fact i only caught one bass(9") on this bait so far,when everything else is out producing.

Don't get me wrong.I'm sure there is a time and place on my lake when it will excel.I just haven't figured it out yet. I'm using Micro's suggestions of rigging from a previous thread.

i like rage tails but nothing beats the good old fashion texas rig plastic worm. I mean how long has that thing been around and it does not stop producing ever IMO

I got my space monkeys today, and am anxious to try them out.  like said, first thought when I opened the package was "Wow, they really packed these well".  i'll post up my results, will try them out friday.

To the OP... its no surprise to me!  The Space Monkey has been a top producer for me this year on some extremely tough and highly pressured waters.  I'm right in there with Micro on the Space Monkey.  

If you haven't fished it, your missing out on a phenomenal fish catcher.  Its so versatile its ridiculous!   Swim it, buzz it, wake it, hop it on the bottom, dead stick it, jig trailer, t-rig, and c-rig, and I'm probably missing a few ways to present this bait.  Can anyone name another bait that can do all that and effectively catch fish in each category?

The price may be a little more than some soft plastics but your getting a quality bait that is packaged well so that it will not get deformed and your basically getting 4-5 baits in one.  All said and done I think the Space Monkey is worth a decent shot in anyone's bag.

Has anyone looked dean rojas fightin frog? It looks very similar to the space monkey. It is made by Big Bite Baits.

Even one fish per bait in a tournament, they will usually pay for themselves. They are more weedless than a buzzbait and make a racket like nothing else I have ever used.

What else is there you need?

I got quite a few packs of RT product on the Road Trip (thanks BigO) and have since given most of them away to my fishing buddies for two reasons....

1. To get them to see how effective the baits can be.  (It has worked, see #2)

2. Because they keep asking for them.   ;D

I still use some other plastics for different profiles (Trick Sticks, Yamamoto Flappin' Hog), but I always have a RT tied on.

I know people say that they are expensive.  I am one of the people that if there is a bait out there that is cheaper and produces just as well (Trick Stick vs. Senko), I will buy the cheaper version without batting an eye.

The thing about it is, I havent found plastics that are as effective in their intended purpose like the RT line.  They just flat out catch fish for me.

I just picked some up this past weeknd in black/blue flake... they sure do look impressive. I'll be putting them to use this evening in a couple different presentations!

on another note, I pitched one in my pool the day I got them to check out the action and wow.. these are some lively creatures from another planet!

space monkeys have become my confidence bait year.  i've caught more fish with them than year than anything else.  their versatility is what i like best..i feel like i can cover the entire water column in one way or another.  since i'm wading in and bringing one rod, this is a huge plus...cuts down a little bit on retying.  black/blue has been my go too!!!

It'll depend on water clarity for me.  Dark, muddy waters...I go with Black/ blue flake or june bug, cause they hold a better silhouette.  Clearer waters I like Double header, or watermelon Red flake.  Okeechobee Craw is another good color for either situation.
