Super User Hooligan Posted June 21, 2011 Super User Posted June 21, 2011 I just was wondering if anyone fishs the Bitsy tube or just a 4 in. tube? And what is your go to color? Sure do. I fish them in a lot of situations that require a smaller bait. I've had phenomenal luck with them on Chequamegon Bay of Lake Superior for smallies, as well as on Lake Okoboji and other lakes close to home. My 7-9 smallie came on a Teaser Tube this spring which is Bass Pro Shop's 2-3/4 tube. I don't have a "Go To" color. My colors are adjusted to the lakes I fish and the water quality of said lakes. I have them in something like nine colors and use all of them throughout the year. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted June 21, 2011 Super User Posted June 21, 2011 When the bite gets tough,I have on a 2 3/4" mizmo tube.I will cut off sometimes 1/4" off the skirt as well. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted June 21, 2011 Super User Posted June 21, 2011 < 3" tubes can and will take decent fish when the conditions call for a smaller bait. As far as rigging, normal tube jigs are too large. You can use a ballhead jig instead. For weedless, Owner Rig-N-Hooks are available in EWG worm sizes to fit the Bitsy's. The Rig-N-Hooks are extra short but have the gap needed for tubes. They're a perfect fit. The Bitsy's will also float an unweighted light wire hook, makes for some fun topwater on light tackle. I had a 5 lb bass explode on one of them at night while twitching it on top Go on TW and search tubes. There are several small tubes available from different companies that are cheaper than the Bitsy's. Quote
