Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 Unreal. KVD wins AOY......again. Dude is just awesome. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 Awesome indeed. Plus he's still got a chance to win the Wheeler tournament tomorrow, sittin in 3rd place at around 3 lbs back of the leader right now. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him throw a huge bag on the scales tomorrow and win the tournament as well. Quote
gpbassbuster1 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 so what happened to skeet's weight today? Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 He had 6 fish, turned himself in and his entire day 3 catch was disqualified. Had he found it before he weighed in they would have culled his biggest bass to get down to 5. Now his shot at the 2012 Classic is done Quote

oteymc Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Did he finally win it the "right way" this year? I got so sick of everyone saying Skeet should of won it last year. They changed the rules, and he won it again anyway. Quote
Deep Jig Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I have more respect for the fishermen who place high in the standings without having Toyota's team of pre-fishermen feeding them the scoop by hiring the best guides available. Quote

Seriously?? HaHa...one of the dumbest comments I've ever read. 1. Where are you getting your info from. Did KVD call you and tell you this? 2. Do you honestly think that the Elite anglers aren't going to do everything legally possible to get ahead of the field? Im sure all of em get local info somehow or another. 3. KVD is not arguably the best, but IS the best Bass fisherman ever. What he has done and continues to do is just unreal. Super human. 7 AOY titles along with the 4 Classic Titles. The guides are probably hiring KVD to teach them a little something. 1 Quote
senko_77 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Bass_Fanatic: I think what Deep JIg was commenting on was the well known fact that KVD has a team of Toyota and Strike KIng Pro Staff that practice on the lakes before the tournament and give him tons of valuable information. Not all of the anglers get help. I know for a fact that Aaron Martens does EVERYTHING by himself. No guides, no friends, no nothing. Quote
senko_77 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 With that said, there is still no way to deny KVD as best angler ever. The dude is just a monster and has proven himself over and over. In a lot of cases, it doesn't matter how much help you got before the tournament because the fish change and you have to make an adjustment. KVD makes those adjustments and wins. Period. 1 Quote

Do Shaw Grigsby, Denny Brauer,Mike Iaconelli, Gerald Swindle, & other strike king/quantum/toyota pros benefit from this as well? How do you KNOW? or are you just repeating "rumors" you have heard that could be true or could be "sour grapes"? Not questioning you personally and I have little to no knowledge of tournament fishing, but your quote "well known fact" makes me wonder. Thanks in advance for clarifying. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Yeah, maybe Im out of the loop, but Ive never heard of that either. Either way, KVD has to perform when the tourny begins and he always does. Look at the Classic. Martins, Remitz, and VanDam were all back there fishing together, but KVD figured em out quicker, thus leading to a win. He is just 10 notches above the field. Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Wow lol im so lazy ive forgotten to renew my bassmaster membership. I have no idea whats going on in the tournament world haha Quote

Incheon Basser Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I'm sorry but I have read every Bassmaster magazine online, Watched every classic, every elite series event. Check every tourney news website twice a day for years and have never heard KVD gets info from Toyota guides. First of all this would be a violation of the 30 day no info rule which states it is illegally to get any information other than publicly accessible info like public websites from any source 30 days before the tournament. So if some one was fishing for him and giving him info it would be month old news. So it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Quote
Incheon Basser Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 "MUSKOGEE, Okla. — BASS is considered the most prestigious organization in tournament Bass fishing. This is due, in part, to the strict rules and high standards that Elite Series Pros must adhere to if they want to compete at the sport's highest level. BASS has strict guidelines regarding practice and information. Specifically, there is an off limits period for the month prior to each tournament which specifies that anglers may not be on tournament waters 30 days prior to the start of the tournament, with the exception of the three official practice days they have immediately preceding each tournament. "Additionally, anglers may not receive, seek or solicit any inside info on tournament waters during the off limits period or tournament days. While they are allowed to confer with fellow Elite Series Pros, they may not discuss the fishery with locals, buddies, or even family, and once cut weights are announced on Friday and Saturday, they may not even discuss fishing on tournament waters with other Elite Series Pros that finished outside the cut." http://www.bassmaster.com/news/tough-want-it-tougher Quote
