ICU812 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Looking around the map I saw this little pond I hadn’t tried yet that was pretty close by. So I packed up and took off to check it out. The access was a little sketchy but I ended up pulling into what looked like an abandoned camp. Probably a summer camp that hadn’t been used in a little while. No private property signs or anything like that at all. Anyway it had great access to the shore and there was a nice trail going along the bank. Caught a few little guys right around 12 inches, but couldn’t hook into anything bigger. The pond is supposed to be pretty good for smallies but all I saw was lmb. They were around submerged wood all along the shore. Caught em on cranks and my spro. I hope to get back out there sometime and see if I can find something bigger. Quote

ICU812 Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Hey thanks man! Just got back from hitting the bank with my gf where I caught my pb smallie and a pickerel and some sunfish lol. Didn't have my phone on me and my girls phone was acting up so we didnt get pics The smallie wasnt that big but the biggest I've gotten so far. Maybe a pound. Crazy thing is it hit a 6 inch topwater hardbody swimbait lol and hit it HARD. I was just basically practicing casting my swimbait setup and wasn't really expecting a strike. The pickerel came on a little rapala and the sunfish came on a bubble and fly rig that I was trying out for the first time. Weird way to fish but it worked pretty well Quote
