Super User BrianinMD Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 Its been a long week, spent most of it doing a 40 hour bootcamp training class for the PMP test (project management cert). Have to pick up my 13 year old daughter from the airport at 11:30 tonight and then leave at 3:30am for a tourney tomorrow. Came home early from work to get some rest, was only home about a minute before one of the dogs (Italian Greyhounds) my wife and I are fostering compound fractured his leg. After a couple hours at the emergency vet we had to put him down, the rescue we do the fostering for can't afford $5,000 in surgery on an 8 year old dog. He was a good dog, hate to see his life end early like this. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 Oh wow. That sucks. I'm very sorry to hear it. There isn't much worse than having to put down a family pet. They just become another member of the family. My condolences to you and your family. Quote
hookingem Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 That's awful man sorry to hear. Best of luck to you in your tourney tomorrow if you still fish Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 It's amazing how much they are a part of your family and then they're gone. I went thru it a while ago and stilll remember it to this day. I had a good dog and cried when he was gone. My condolences. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 18, 2011 Global Moderator Posted June 18, 2011 We have 3 shelties and they are more like children than pets. They all have their own personalities and I hate to think of the day when they're gone. Sorry about your loss. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted June 19, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 19, 2011 Just won't stop, in the middle of the tourney i get a text my wife's grandmother passed away. Wife would not let me miss the tourney, finished 2nd by 1oz due to a 4oz dead fish penalty. Quote
