Fat-G Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Caught a decent fish FINALLY the other day and it's my 2011 PB. 6 even on the scale, hit midday on a Rage Lobster, swimming it. I really like the Falcon Craw color. Shimano Cumara CUC-72MH Curado 200e7 50# Fireline 5/0 Twistlock 3/8 oz. tungsten weight Then this morning after my last exam I did a little off-roading and found this little guy - probably 3.5 feet long. Snakes smell like s**t. I don't know why the hell I had the balls to just pick him up, but I did! Scared the crap out of everyone that drove by pretending like he was biting me! Quote
endless Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Nice one. I had to kill 2 snakes not to long ago. They was in the yard and live in this sewage backup field that doesn't get cut at all that's maybe 40 feet from behind my house. The neighborhood doesn't care since it's not behind their house. I'm serious thinking about taking my tracker through it. The backup part isn't big at all maybe 20 ft long by 5 ft wide but the grass is freaking tall and thick. Not only is it behind my house but up from the playground which is behind my house. Heck I'm shock they finally cut that grass. It was tall as well. I'm not trying to have my son who is about to be 4 get bit even by a non poisonous snake. I do know now that he is not afraid of them. After I killed one which he didn't see me do but when I place it in this old grill he was trying to pick it up. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 That dont look like no Rage Lobster...did you put some extra appendages on that thing? Quote
Fat-G Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 It's curled up...was using an Owner Twistlock. Now that I look closer, it does look weird. Quote
Fat-G Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 This was one healthy son-of-a-gun. Fought like crazy. I hit her good too. Myself and hookingem have probably caught 40+ 4-5 pounders this year, but the big fish have eluded me. AJ has two 7's, and I'm getting ticked. Quote
brushhoggin Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 i think theres a leaf on the craw that makes it look like another appendage. ok so i'm curious about your retrieve. you say you were swimming that thing, is this a slow, steady retrieve, or a more erratic one? Quote
Fat-G Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 Steady, more fast than slow. I really need to get some keel-weighted hooks for this technique. Swimming Rage Craws and Lobsters is a really well-kept secret, it's just filthy. Quote
JaxBasser Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Swimming Rage Craws has been a big producer for me this year so far. Wake them right under the surface or fish them on the surface and hold on. Quote
Shane Procell Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Nice fish! I use the same stick and winch. Good setup. Quote
ICU812 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Great fish man and congrats on your 2011 PB! Did that dude say he was gonna grill a snake? Quote
